  1. Ok so I had my sleeve on 7/25, and they also took out my gallbladder. I spent roughly 35 hours in the hospital, very uncomfortable, and nauseous. I threw up after drinking a little tea & broth that the hospital brought me, so I've tried to be very careful of how much liquids I take in at one time, but I'm just scared I'm not getting enough. I'm 4 days out, I'm only getting in 1 premier protein shake a day, and about 40 ounces of water. I still have a decent amount of trapped gas, but I'm trying to move plenty to get it worked out. I'm walking 3-4 times a day at least 100 yards each time. My greatest discomfort is on the right side of my stomach where they took my stomach and gallbladder out, and they said that's because I have an internal stitch in there to hold my muscle back in place after being moved over during surgery. Will someone just tell me if I'm getting an average amount of liquids or if I'm way low. Any advice helps! Thanks!
  2. My surgery is next week, and everything seems like it's crashing down... not necessarily in a negative way, but it seems like the nerves have kicked in, I'm feeling unprepared (although there's no reasoning behind why), & I'm scrambling to try my best to make sure I have any & everything I could need for the first 2 weeks post op. SO with that being said, what are everybody's necessities as far as hospital bag, clear liquid diet, and just trying to be comfortable after surgery? Any and all suggestions are welcome! I'm also aware this topic has been addressed a million times on this site, so pls don't waste your time & mine to tell me 'someone has already asked that' Thank you guys so much! Have a blessed day!

    PatchMD

So I'm 6 weeks pre-surgery, and I'm curious as to what everyone is using as their B12 supplement... I have heard of weekly nasal sprays, pills, and PatchMD. I just want to know what has been the most successful for people overall. Thanks!

    EGD & Liver Biopsy?

Thank you kkami12! They didn't say anything about a mass or cyst, just that I would need a biopsy done and that it could possibly be from fatty cells... I guess the real question is, is this common before VSG?
  5. So today I got the call for my ultrasound results saying that YES my gallbladder will be coming out during my surgery, and in addition they would be doing a biopsy on my liver during my surgery.... Anyone experienced this? Also I have seen a lot of people talk about having to have an EGD done prior to surgery, and I asked if I would have to have one and they said no... Just curious on what the stigma would be for having or not having one... I am about 6 weeks pre-surgery and really trying to get all my questions answered. Thanks for the help!
