Post op Day 22...
So the dreaded stall is here....first I was angry, sad, depressed. I think I might have gone through every emotion possible in a matter of a few days...oh lets add confusion. I have been reading too much into other peoples journeys and I simply must stop. I took a break from FB, next might be insta.....then today I was just researching more about the stall and I found a thread were this woman made perfect sense....
"Please remember, Weight Loss Surgery is NOT a diet, it’s a lifestyle change which requires patience, diligence, mindfulness, change of old habits, etc.; it’s not a quick fix. It really does sound like you are doing very well and you just need to keep going and be kind and loving to yourself and embrace your success right where you are."
I have been expecting fast results when my body is still healing, my wounds are not even all the way closed up. I am doing more damage by fretting or physicking myself out. I need to relax and continue with my new lifestyle and give it to the Lord. My body is so tired, I get tired in the shower washing my hair. I also think I am about to have a visit from Aunt Flow....so maybe that is playing a part. I felt more bloated and have been having those hunger pains more (usually I eat more during my time of the month) I also saw some candy and wanted it. I only liked candy during my time of the month.
Also there are a few people on this site who like to give backhanded compliments. Or even advice, this site does have wonderful information but sometimes the threads can go crazy and too many people have an opinion. Just going to keep doing what I am doing and walk more. I have been doing my correct water intake and staying within my approved foods.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

If there is one piece of advice I can give every recent post op person, it's do not weigh yourself for the first month. There is just too much going on, particularly water weight fluctuations. Now is the time to let yourself heal and focus on your nutrition goals. With as little as we consume, there is no way you will not lose, but there is just too much going on to get an accurate reading. You put lots of sage advice in your own post, so make sure you are truly following what you are writing, especially the self-love and care aspects. You are doing great!

Backhanded compliments, online? Never! #sarcasm Just remember that your journey is yours and it will play out like it is supposed to for you. It seems like you have a good head about the situation and you are aware of pre-op triggers rearing their ugly head post-op. The 3 week stall is the least troublesome of all the stalls. The only kicker is that it is the first. Get through this one, continue to be successful and show the naysayers that you've got this!

Post op Day 20...
I haven't posted an update for a few days because I was feeling blue. Mostly TBH- having a pity party because the scale had not moved in a few days. I also was reading too many post on here and sometimes I would compare myself to others, or chastise myself for not counting the calories more. But honestly most of the food I I have been eating is at 1/2 a cup or less. I have found for me to get in my protein I am needing to continue to drink at least 1 Premier Protein drink a day. Sometimes I also add an isopure, because I am so scared of not meeting that goal. Plus I noticed some hair coming out in the shower...not much. But it has been soooo long since I lost hair (to be exact since 2010 when I had my son) My husband has been so helpful...and encouraging. Last night I made vegetarian chili with three different types of beans. It was much more satisfying then having a little bit of sweet potato (which I never liked until after surgery) I do not really care for my post op diet. It has me eating a lot of low fat cheese/ diary products and beans. I am not really a fan of diary to begin with. I am just getting tired of not having real protein I suppose. I am ready for some grilled chicken!! On a side note after I cooked dinner and read my son a book I got on the treadmill....I am noticing I cannot walk as long (my back starts killing me and my tummy hurts) but at least I walked. I know this isn't very motivational but I want to remember the highs and lows.

Hang in there! The further out you go and as you have more options for food it gets so much better. Everyone has their own journey, and even though comparing is understandable since so many people post their food/weight/workouts, you gotta focus on how much better you are doing since preop. That is the comparison that matters IMO.

Post op Day 16...
Last night for dinner I was really craving Mexican food. I had purchased some fat free refried beans and avocados and some salsa. I am sure someone has done this before but I hadn't ever and I am shocked I haven't done this before. But I halved the avocado and warmed the beans and topped it with a little bit of cheese I put maybe 1 tablespoon inside the avocado and topped it all off with salsa. OMG. It was so yum. I only ate 1/4 of it (which was one half of the avocado) and I was very satisfied! I cannot wait until down the road I can do this with some lettuce and sprinkle ground turkey on top. I also have positive feedback on my calcium chews...they had me wait a bit before I started taking them...same with the iron pills (which I take at night) but the chews are like tootsie roll consistency and taste like a very healthy brownie. Tonight we are going to the drive in movie and I really really really want some popcorn. I know I shouldn't...good thing it is a drive in and I will not be smelling it as bad as if it were in the movie theater. LOL Happy FRIDAY!

Post op Day 15....
For dinner last night I nibbled on some very mushy broccoli with a hint of lemon and pepper and a touch of salt. It was DELISH! I probably had 2 bites of that and then I had paired it with my Ricotta Bake. I maybe had 3 bites of that. I am still learning the feeling of what is "full". The DS is not like the gastric bypass. Things seem to go down much easier as opposed to the gastric bypass it was coming up regardless if I liked it or not. I am thankful for that experience only because I will not over eat. I am scared to throw up especially with my wounds still very much present and hurting occasionally. ( I think the nerves are reconnecting) But on that same point I am scared I may not eat enough. Today I still brought a protein drink and I had half left over from work. So now I have had thus far 1 full protein premier protein and a half and 3 bites of my ricotta bake that I brought. I also brought some non fat yogurt but I doubt I will open that. I know I cannot live in fear but I do not want to not make my protein intake for the day. I have been getting the water in but I noticed my urine not as clear as prior to surgery. Oh well....I will keep trucking.

Tomorrow I can eat scrambled eggs! I am really excited about this! I am also going to try to make a ricotta bake......even if I just get a bite of each down I would be a happy camper. I am also really proud--- today being Day 13 Post op--- I FINALLY got down two protein shakes! (60 grames protein) It is really hard - plus trying to get my water intake in as well. I have a very full feeling that has not gone away. Today was a good day, and my 2nd day at work since surgery....feeling optimistic. My tummy is not hurting as much, I just wish I was back to sleeping normal. I am super tired and no caffeine until the end of the month...sheesh!

The ricotta bake is very good. I still eat it now, but I add in ground turkey and use thinly sliced zucchini for the noodles.
