  1. So I'm losing weight pretty consistently (43 lbs down since surgery), and my clothes are getting bigger, but my measurements are not changing?? They have dropped some, but they have not changed in the last 20 lbs or so that I've lost!! Makes no sense! Anyone else notice this?

    Protein Goal too low?

Thanks everyone!!! Will be talking to Nut at my 2-mo appt next week, esp. since I should be released for more strenuous exercise.
  3. My surgeon recommended 40-60 grams of protein per day for women in his practice. From what I've read on here, most everyone has been told to get or gets way more than that. Does this seem to low to y'all? Wondering if I need to be getting more. I do tend to hit closer to 60 most days.

    Tanita scales

And to answer your question, yes I think that's true. It uses a mild electric current to measure your body composition. There are handheld versions as well. Though I'd still put your purse down...

    Tanita scales

Was just thinking about this last night - how I would love a scale like the one at the surgeon's office! Might need to look into that. So nice to have more info than just a random number. And I find it's way more accurate too.
  6. I just had the most fun I've had in a while last night...GOING THROUGH CLOTHES!! Never thought that would be considered a "fun" experience. Trying on clothes that I haven't worn in YEARS (and some only a few months), and comparing how they look now to pictures of when they were in active rotation, was at the same time fun, a bit depressing, and cathartic. I'm down a size almost 2 months after surgery, in both shirts and pants. Most of my shirts flap on me now, pants are quickly catching up. I'm very glad (now) that I don't often clean out my closet - I realized I have a bunch of stuff that is getting me through this first purge without a shopping spree (although that is on the horizon - I go to Mexico for vacation in a month, and I WILL get my spree then!) My closet is looking pretty empty - but I can now say I actually wear everything in there!!

    Cold Water

I had heard about cold water/drinks hurting your stomach, but I've never had an issue. I've always preferred my water ice-cold - I drink way more when I have ice. My big YETI cup has been my constant companion since surgery! My problem is wanting to chug it sometimes - I have to stop myself! LOL

    Any WLS Scouters?

I was wondering the same thing - I am Committee Chair of our Pack, and my uniform shirt is SWALLOWING me 2 months after surgery! I'm loathe to replace it yet because I have a long way to go with weight loss (and my son will cross over to Troop in January). I love the idea of a "community closet"! I may suggest that to our Committee for the future.

    March sleevers hows everyone doing??

March 13 for me. I'm down 38 lbs, really starting to feel great. Seeing big changes in my clothes, people are starting to notice. I had the Week 3 Stall for about 7 days, then lost 2 lbs a week the last few weeks. Now I'm seeing big drops again. I've noticed big changes in my skin also. LOL All the blemishes and inflammation seems to have disappeared. Mood swings in full force. Still just walking, my 2 month appointment is May 9. Hoping to get cleared for more intense exercise. Can't wait to get my first big wardrobe update for our Mexico trip in June!
  11. No, no numbness either. Just surface skin itch, not deep tissue or anything. So annoying!! Will def. mention to the doctor. Thanks for the info!
