Today I have been snacking like no ones business, kind of. Today I had a sandwich. It was a mini sandwich that took me the day to eat, I hate it in halves. I then ate fruit and snacked on two Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I did not need them but they were awesome! I have still been losing weight and I have been being careful, but today was crazy. I will not punish myself but I will also continue to watch my portions, exercise and LIVE! HW: 346 SW: 304 CW: 247 GW: 200 (for now)

Thank you! That was exactly what I was acknowledging when I made my post. I know that it wasn't a good choice to eat the doughnuts but I did and I survived. I did not go backwards, nor did I binge on their foods, I can't eat that much anyway. I am a constant work in process. I'm pretty sure I will be fine. My nutritionist wanted me to lose 30lbs by the time I see her mid August, I've already lost 32lbs with a month to go. I think I will survive.

I do not indulge in treats regularly. I may taste certain foods to see if my stomach will accept it and that's it. I did say that I ate two doughnuts that day, and it was only two doughnuts not a dozen. Along with my regular diet and my exercise regime, I am fine! I continue to lose weight and move forward. This may be very hard for some but it is not for me. I had a day of eating something that is not on the healthy list but I survived! Since that day I have had not urges for anything high in carbs. Half the time I don't even want to eat but I do and I keep it simple with protein drinks, veggies, protein, salad and fruit. I am happier than I've ever been and I feel great! Being down 101lbs will do that to you. We are all doing fabulous! Look how far we've come.

This is exactly how I feel! I had already changed my relationship with food and I'm good with it. I understand that certain foods are a gateway to old eating habits but it depends on the person and how strong your will is. Having this surgery has been the best tool for me. I taste or eat things that I probably shouldn't but it is not everyday and it is in moderation. I can't eat that much anyway! I want to live!

Agreed! Some things that I find affects others, does not affect me. I did it and that was it. I felt good because it could have been worse and it wasn't. I still stick to eating what I should. That is what's important to me. I can not and will not beat myself up either. Good luck to you as well.

Thank you for the advice, but I really am okay. I only ate them because I wanted "something". I don't even care for doughnuts, nor do I buy them. My stomach is not what stopped me from eating them, it was me. I did not need anymore. I was at my in-laws house. My relationship with food has changed so much that I no longer crave the foods I used to eat. I've been sticking to the plan as I should. My surgery date was April 3rd and since then I've lost 57lbs. and I'm moving forward. I will not always fall off but I thank people like you to keep me focused. Thanks a bunch and good luck to you too!

Of course! Definitely not a regular occurrence. I'm happy though! [emoji4]

I feel the same way at times! Congratulations, you're doing wonderful!

My surgery date was April 3, 2017. I'm at the end of my 11th week and I've only lost 48lbs, but for the last week I've been going back and forth between 1.5lbs and 2lbs. I feel as though I've hit another stall. Unfortunately, I've also been dealing with an injury where my hip was pulled out of place and I've been unable to walk my normal 5 to 6 miles. I'm frustrated a bit. I also feel so limited with what is acceptable to eat that at times I don't wish to eat at all. I see how much others have lost and I am amazed. I'm just wishing I could lose so much so fast, but everyone is different I see. I'm told you have to eat to lose, that is beginning to be a challenge. I don't know. HW: 346 SW: 304 CW: 258 GW: 200

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was extremely helpful! I am doing better with being realistic and not comparing myself to anyone else. I'm doing well! :-) I find that it's also a visual thing with me. I do not see myself as others currently do. I had to step back to take a glance and I love what I see.

Thank you! I'm hanging in there for sure. Since writing this, I've noticed that now my hair is beginning to shed a little and I dropped an additional 11lbs out of nowhere. Staying steady! Good luck to you!

I understand what you mean. After reading all of the responses, I am working on being more realistic about my weight loss. I have done very well and I shouldn't beat myself up about it. After I wrote this, out of nowhere I just dropped 11lbs! It literally just fell off. This is all very unpredictable. Good luck to us all!

Thank you for that! I understand and it makes a lot of sense. Plus, you're right... I've never lost 16 pounds a month on any diet. I know that it's not good to compare myself to others, I welcome the reminder. I'm very happy for you and your success! I will meet my goal and so will you! I'll work through my stall and keep it pushin'. Thank you fellow sleeved!

Not losing consistently
LaLaJ13 replied to fatchocobomom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I went to visit my nutritionist after 4 weeks, she told me that I should lose up to 10 pounds a month's, to me that is reasonable. Even if you lose 8 lbs a month, 2lbs a week, in 5 months that's 40lbs. Just don't get so frustrated. This surgery was just a tool. How it works for some is different for others. Just stay on track and you'll be fine. -
I am just shy of 3 months post-op and I have lost 41lbs since my surgery April 3rd, but I have lost a total of 87lbs. I want to lose an additional 60lbs by the beginning of the year and I'm pretty sure that I can do this. I am however craving some nice warm chocolate chip cookies. I currently walk 5-6 miles Monday thru Friday. I have done really well with what I've eaten but I sure do want a treat.

I hate those vitamins! Awesome weight loss though! -
I feel the same way! I am only 6 weeks post op but I take maybe 4 bites of fish and a couple bites of veggies and I'm done! I can't imagine eating a whole meal anymore.

April Sleevers, What Changes Have You Noticed?
LaLaJ13 replied to tlh4life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery April 3rd. Since then I've lost 26 lbs but I seem to be coming up on a stall. I have been at the same weight for the last 3 days where every day I was losing something. I'm so used to losing that now I get nervous when I don't. I have so much more to lose! -
Don't do anything strenuous until the doctor has released you. It's wonderful that you feel great but you are still healing. I am 3 weeks out and I was released to do more. Take your time, just know that you are doing fine. You are on the right track.
-
I received my sleeve April 3rd. I continued to take the stool softeners recommended to me and it was a week before I could go. You should also be passing gas, that should help with some of the gas in your stomach, although I am still experiencing that too. It all just takes a little time.

14 Weeks Post Op - Multiple Stalls
LaLaJ13 replied to FindingCarrie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You look great! Thank you for the advice! I am only 3 weeks out and I am still trying to get a hang of this new stomach. Some days it cooperates and some days it does not. I've lost 19lbs so far and I feel great! Thank you again!
