Who eats McDonalds post op?
andnowwewait replied to mi75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate half of a burger at almost 3 months post op and felt ok. Kinda full but ok. No space for fries or anything else just a few bites of the sandwich. -
Is this chewing until puree in your mouth a forever thing?
andnowwewait posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is chewing 20 to 30 times before swallowing something we will have to do forever??? Also the not drinking with a meal and waiting 30 to 60 minutes until able to drink again? Just curious because sometimes I forget and swallow before it's completely chewed and sometimes I drink right after eating. It's hard for me to remember. Trying to figure out if I'm going to have to watch myself forever! Thanks. -

April Sleevers, What Changes Have You Noticed?
andnowwewait replied to tlh4life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sure if you indulge it will hurt I have been afraid of this feeling so I haven't tried to eat more than 8oz at a time. It still takes me one hour plus to drink my protein shake and if I try to do it faster than that I can't finish it. I have to put it in the fridge and finish it later so yes you do get full from it. When I left the hospital I was told to measure my blood sugar at least 3 times a day and if it was low to have some protein. I tracked my sugar levels for the first 2 weeks and they were in between 80 to 110 so I never really had a really low one. Good luck on your surgery and be ready to be diabetes free!!! -

I did not regret doing this but the first day and second were no joke. Still have cravings but when it does happen I step up on my scale and remind myself why I did this! Good luck! -
Taking meds after surgery
andnowwewait replied to kymmiej11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took 2 big tylenol pills hours after surgery! And I was sent home with a bunch of other pills to take. Never had any problems. -

I kinda feel like I'm losing slower than everyone else too. Lost 16 lbs pre op and another 7 lbs post op. Tomorrow is my 2 weeks post op anniversary. Very disappointed at myself for not losing more weight. Getting 80 to 90 grams of protein a day, able to have a total of 64oz of liquid per day and consuming 500 to 600 calories. Still not losing [emoji20] hopefully it will get better. -
I had mine on the 18th. Was taking miralax once a day and got my first bowel movement yesterday. Had to stop miralax because my stool was a little liquid. I do feel the chest pain when swallowing liquids but it's getting better slowly. I'm not walking much and I think that has something to do with it. Still have some pain on my right side (and this is why I don't move a lot) but I'm trying to take less pain killers so I don't get constipated. My Doc. said not to push the bowel movement so now I freak out thinking that every thing can rip open!!!
