Wow!!! Thank you so much for that I will surely not eat those any longer!!!! You broke down actually what I need to do and I see my mistake with the solid food is how I chew because I don't chew until the food until it is in baby food form so that is where I am messing up. Thank you again! I really need to schedule my meals as well that is another error I see. Thank you for the push & the encouragement as well to my concern.

I am just curious next week will make month 2 for me. my SW:286 2 week follow up I was I believe 274 now I am in between 264-261 so far I only lost between 10/13 pounds this month from my first visit which seems like it is not enough am I not doing something right? I walk when I can't make it to the gym I have been cleared for solids but it always comes back up so I've been doing protein if anything water, applesauce, grits, oatmeal, or baby food. However I don't eat the 4-6 meals I believe a day because I am still getting use to eating again and chewing followed by drinking but like I said my main concern is am I on the right track concerning monthly weight lost?

Do you always have to sip your drink? Or overtime you are able to drink normally again ?

Thank you!!!! [emoji846] I'm only a month out but I don't feel that pain when I drink water or my protein shakes anymore like I use too. But I just wanted to see if that was normal.

I have really been SLACKING on taking my vitamins the only vitamins I was told to take was a multivitamin, iron, and calcium/vitamin d. However I have added b12 because I see that it is needed as well. My main concern is how do you take all these vitamins in a days time I am not a morning person but I do see that if I don't take my vitamins my body is tired my eyes feel strange and I am always thirsty (not so really hungry) I am a month post-op and I don't want any issues in the long run but I feel some may come up. & do anyone still have to sip their drink? I don't really I know everyone body is different but I want to learn how to maintain my weight even when I reach my goal. What did anyone eat a month post op because I still can't find the right foods that agree with me so most I eat one meal a day when I suppose to eat 3 and it is usually a protein drink/ tuna or a grilled chicken piece. This journey is really a LEARNING PROCESS! But I am determined not to give up!!!

I definitely would encourage you to WALK!!! I was in pain when I went home and I feel my stomach time to heal because I just always took my pain medicine and laid around until I realize I didn't want to go back to the hospital for dehydration or complications so I made myself walk. As far as sleeping on my tummy it was a month for me it was even hard for me to sleep on my side but I am definitely pumped I am a month post op and all I want to do is exercise but I been sluggish because of my vitamins I am not yet good with that and still is learning but all I can say is that when you start to feel better your going to be so PUMPED to do what you have to do! GOOD LUCK[emoji1491][emoji813]️

3 weeks out and weight gain
Kierajay replied to meaghan_rny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have kids? They said it is easier if you do so was curious... I was suppose to get the skyla this past Tuesday but as I stated before I couldn't don't know if it was because my period was here or of the medicine they gave me to soften my cervix but I couldn't do it. Yes! I was beyond scared but days passing I have been thinking about weight gain on pills and other complications that may occur. And I'm hitting the gym tonight [emoji1491](period slowing down) -
3 weeks out and weight gain
Kierajay replied to meaghan_rny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG I DID TOO & we have the same date (Hey twin) so you have approached a month too I am now down to about 266 think because I have been in so much pain from my period and also trying to get an IUD that didn't work out to well. So I've lost approximately 20 pounds this month. However I have not had the energy to excersie or eat I been trying to take in my protein & water even though my surgeon said I can start solid foods I am haven't because I been feeling so miserable [emoji24] I am hoping though that the weight continues to decrease even after my period is down but that is typically when we gain weight but I'm just patiently waiting[emoji144]🏾♀️ -
Still have pain
Kierajay replied to Maryann Legaspi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes it is I had mine on April 3, 2017 and what I can say eased the pain was walking and now it feels a lot better but I'm still a little sluggish because my period came right after [emoji30]..... surgery -
DO YOU THINK BC IS NEEDED AFTER RNY... asking because my period seems to be coming on it's on but it's so painful I'm literally just trying to figure out where to go from here...my obgyn suggested Skyla however I feel like these cramps are too much as is on my body like now I'm just feeling like I have to throw up but everything is clear
-
I have tried that but I had an LEEP PROCEDURE and it scarred my cervix so the pain was CRUCIAL. So I tried the skyla iud today same thing [emoji30] and I'm afraid to take bc pills because I know some have weight gain.
-
Omg thank you after my surgery my period started on it's on before I never got them so that's why my OBGYN suggested skyla however the pain was too much for me to bare and I didn't go through with it not sure if it was because of the medicine they gave me prior to soften my cervix because it had me up the night before nauseous/throwing up but I just feel like is birth control really needed? Only because I'm not sexual active due to having an hystercopy than following my bypass I just think bc is too right now. Thank you so much for the heads up about Skyla.

I have BCBS (NORTH CAROLINA) and I had Aetna last year so when I was going through the program with atena I only had to 6 months. However Aetna had dropped out of the affordable Health care & BCBSNC was the only one available but to make a long story short BCBSNC required 12 months but the provider I was going through said that if I could get info on everything I did before like info about what doctors I talked to about my weight & what they prescribed like toprimate & phetermine and things like that I can get approved before and would not have to do another 7 months (which I cried & prayed that I wouldn't have too!!) so one day I went driving and to my primary care doctor and talked to him about a letter of recommendation with all my medical records and sent it back to the office all I can say is I love them(BCBSNC) because they approved me right when I was leaving the doctor from my endoscopy I just had the bypass 3 weeks ago. I believe if you have information before you started the program it will count as if you did 12 months. Good LUCK! [emoji1474] it's going to happen before you know it [emoji847]
