Trouble getting my protein
mustanglauri replied to dmath's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love this milk. I pair it with Special K protein for breakfast occasionally and it's very yummy.... my husband loves the chocolate milk. Tastes just like regular milk. Also has a longer expiration date. -

How do you know when you've stopped losing? How do I know if it's a stall or I'm where i'm supposed to be? I'm only 5 months post op. Is it possible already?

Not buying new clothes till at goal.
mustanglauri replied to dreamingsmall's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I doubt you'll be able to wait. I actually started to buy some clothes pre op ( just like 1 or 2 a week) at Walmart on clearance. I never paid more than 5 dollars for anything. I was a size 16/18, I am now into the 10/12 that I bought. -

Only thing I can think of is eggs and protein shakes.. Also, have you tried Fairlife milk ( 13 grams) and Special K protein cereal ( 10 grams )? They also make a chocolate milk.

Ideas on what to tell work
mustanglauri replied to general_antiope's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have not told anyone at my job.. i started eating the way I am now 3 months before surgery, just to get used to it so it didn't really feel like a change after. I only had a week vacation so it was surgery on Monday, home tuesday walk/drink rest of the week. Drive to my follow up on Thursday and went back to work Monday. I was fortunate enough to have NO complications and Did not need any pain meds ( not even tylenol in the hospital. ) -
Just cannot eat
mustanglauri replied to PrayingForWeightLoss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you can get these... the cereal is 10g of protein and the milk is 13 g... i would use it as a soft food.. they also make chocolate milk. It's a start.. -

28 July Sleeve date
mustanglauri replied to PrayingForWeightLoss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I work with the same couple of women. There are only 3 people that know I had it done and respect my choice not to share my life with everyone. I only took 1 week off, as I only had a weeks vacation, and they just see that I'm losing weight. I just say exercise and no carbs( not a compete lie). I am happy with my decision not to share with everyone as It's not always the topic of conversation with everyone. Good luck with your journey. -
When did you start driving
mustanglauri replied to shericrazylady's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I drove to my follow up appointment 2 days later but, I had zero pain meds. -
How much have you low bmi'ers lost? Concerned I'm not losing enough.
mustanglauri replied to Mallory77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Surgery date was 5/1 and I was 216. I'm at 188 now. At the 1 month mark I was 196. Exercise does help. I'm hoping that by not losing it very fast I'll escape/lessen the dreaded hair loss... I guess we'll see. Every check up my doctor is happy with everything so I guess it's all good. -
You may get lucky and be like alot of us. I had nothing afterwards. I didn't even need tylenol in the hospital. When I woke up, I started walking and my first lap was actually 6, the next time I walked it was 10.. The only issue I had was 1 stubborn gas bubble under my shoulder blade. It left after a week. Hopefully your surgery & recovery will be a breeze as well. Good luck.

How long were you off work?
mustanglauri replied to alli.wakefield's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was able to. Just walk as much as you can right after surgery. The first time I walked around the floor I did 2 laps. The next time was 10. Everyone is different. There was no way I could have sat home any longer than 1 week. -
I had bloodwork, no pregnancy test and I had a bag of fluids to prevent dehydration and blood clots
