I had RNY on 4/4/17. I lost 26.6 lbs in like 2 1/2 weeks. This week I started on soft foods and gained 5lbs. I am super nervous. I know I shouldn't pay attention to the scale so I weigh myself once a week. My question is, is this normal? I drink at least 1 premier a day, been doing at least 48 oz of water but more when I can fit it in. I eat yogurt for a morning snack and eat 1 meal. Am I doing something wrong? I guess I figured my weight would just instantly drop off weekly.

3 weeks out and weight gain
meaghan_rny replied to meaghan_rny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have noticed hat I have went down several sizes in my clothes and my bras are too big. I finally left my stall. I did increase my water intake and started slowly at the gym. That has seemed to help as well. -
I will be 3 months out on July 4th. So far I have lost 45 pounds but it takes a lot to lose...in my opinion. I must admit that I don't get in all my water most days. I am so forgetful when it comes to my vitamins but I am setting an alarm to start taking them better. I am stalking like 2 weeks at a time. Will I ever get back to losing rapidly? I want like 15-20 pounds a month...maybe I am not being realistic?

How many pounds are you suppose to lose from May to now June 2017
meaghan_rny replied to Yesenia2016's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly I think you are on track unless we both are off. I had surgery May 4th and have lost 45.5 pounds. I thought it would fall off quicker as well. But I do actually eat. I am one of those people that can actually eat anything but very small portions. -
I am 6 weeks out tomorrow from RNY. I am having terrible knee pain. Can't go to doctor until Friday but can I take some type of medicine for relief?

I totally understand. Luckily I have my sister to ask as well. But the weight did start back going down. Don't worry, just keep doing what you are suppose to. -

I gained 5 in like week 2 of post op. After that I lost it but it took me down the road of craziness. I immediately thought we'll maybe my bypass didn't work. After a week, I had lost it again and started back losing weight. -
How often do you weigh
meaghan_rny replied to Alexandrya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh once a week on a Sunday. I started off almost every day but changed to once a week so it wouldn't be so nerve wrecking -

I do have 1 daughter. I got the mirena put in right after birth at 6 weeks check up. At about 4 1/2 years I took it out. Then waited 2 months and got it out back in. That time was different. The first time I felt no pain but the second I cramped really bad...just for one day. I took some Tylenol and slept it off! I am relaxing today and tomorrow but I am hitting the gym on Sunday. I like to start everything off on a Sunday so I can remember. -

I have lost the same; 20lbs this month. I do eat solid foods and found I can eat anything. I have started a low carb diet. Pinterest is back my best friend. I haven't been consistent on my exercising but said that I was going to start this weekend for a boost. I have IUD and love it! I want to continue to lose. I lost like 3.5 pounds this week and I am pushing for 5 a week. Not sure if that's realistic or not. But we shall see -
Today marks one month post op and I have lost 22.4 pounds. I have been doing pretty good with no complications. I am on regular food now but I do take it slow. I am determined to start consistently working out this week even if it's just a walk a day. I am thinking of switching to the vitamin patch as this chalky bariatric advantage vitamins make me feel sick. My question is, what's the average weight loss that is expected a month? I know everyone is different but I kind of wanting to know others thoughts.

3 weeks out and weight gain
meaghan_rny replied to meaghan_rny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am doing like 40-60 grams of protein. I am trying hard to get fluids in but they make me so full. I just started using MyFitnessPal to document what I eat. I am not eating much as I am not clear for all solid foods until next Tuesday when I hit 4 weeks post op. I started back dropping slow. I am starting to walk more and exercise as well -

Yeah Tuesday will officially make week 3. I am on soft foods. I don't have an appetite but I will randomly crave things. Basically because I have a 4 year old and I am used to eating with her but I am overcoming it. I am just ready for the weight to magically disappear, lol. -

Thank you so much! I guess I get scale crazy and hop on like every other day. I have lost like 2 lbs of my gain so I guess it's coming off. People say they see the weightless...I want to see numbers move. I think everyone is different as it takes our bodies time to adjust. I haven't been in any pain and honestly food goes down good. I was having some small gas pains when I eat but that has subsided. -

We can be friends! I lost 1 pound so I am guessing it's my body adjusting. I have been a little lazy this week as I have returned back to work. I am going to start working out this weekend
