    When do you stop losing?

It's a great question, and I'm wondering the same thing, especially about the pace of loss. My surgery was about 4.5 months ago and I've lost 61-62 pounds (from bmi of 38 to 28). I feel great and feel good about my weight loss, but it does feel like the pace of weight loss is slowing down. Obviously the weight loss was most dramatic in the early weeks when my caloric intake was super low. I am exercising and doing weight training/strengthening per my surgeon's recommendations. I believe my caloric intake is approx. 900-1000 cal per day. For those of you out 6 months to one year, what was your general pattern of weight loss? Was there a point at which you stopped losing and began maintenance?

    Resolution of Sleep Apnea

actually my mouth has been so dry with the cpap post-op that I can't use my machine anymore. now that I've lost 50 + pounds, I don't feel like I need it.

    Stretching Sleeve [emoji51]

I'm no expert, at just about 9 weeks out, but I find my food scale and measuring cups very important. I've also adjusted to the rules about separating drinking from eating, and while it's taken awhile to get used to it, I plan to continue that long term. For now, I still write down my eating and drinking to stay on top of my goals.

    Hair Loss

i haven't noticed the thinning yet, but I got my hair cut and the stylist noted its dryness (I also dye it). I ordered some hair oil from amazon and now rub a few drops on my ends every day. I think it's helping.
  7. do u have a way of checking your blood pressure? i was able to stop my blood pressure medication at that point and that helped. also i focused more on hydration/protein drinking vs eating. dizziness eventually passed. i agree it is hard to find the balance.

    Packing for hospital??

that looks good. good luck. i was just in one night so didnt need anything other than clothes and flip flops, usual toiletries. the ride home made me super nauseated (threw up when i got home, guessing still from anesthesia) so it was super helpful to have my family go fill the prescriptions--the anti-nausea med especially--really fast as soon as i got home. only needed that the first two days though.

    On the verge of dehydration!

sugar free popsicles and ice cold water were easiest for me to tolerate early. i use syntrax nectar for my protein powder because i like water based juice type drinks.

Help Craving Texture and to chew food

i found the sugar free popsicles helped the chew crave, also crushed ice. ask your nut when you are advanced to soft whether "crispy" counts. crispy high protein food like parm crisps can be chewed to a very soft consistency and my nut said this was ok. i have tried a bunch of the high protein snacks because i like the crunchy texture. (can't wait for another 1-2 months when raw veggies can come back to my life)

Help Craving Texture and to chew food

she wasn't encouraging anyone to do anything. she was sharing her experience which is what this forum is supposed to encourage.

    popcorn when?

just wondering at what point popcorn is allowed after your sleeve in terms of sleeve safety?
  14. just follow your surgeon's process. there are lots of steps. it takes time and that's good. it gives u time to reflect on what, why and how you're eating. all of which will change. i used the time to try to gain some insights into why i would snack late at night, also used the time to come off caffeine, then off caffeine free diet coke. that was huge, actually easier than i thought. i had the sleeve. can't imagine proceeding with the band. ask your program for pros and cons of sleeve vs bypass. i was bmi between 35 and 40. bc bs approved quickly because we discovered co-morbidities during my bariatric program
