Don’t feel bad I’m there too
-
I’m in the same boat. I went to my 1 week follow up after my liquid diet and I actually GAINED 2-5 pounds! Talk about discouraged. I’m hoping and praying that it’s just water retention, but I’m going to do my best and become more active after I heal.

I use the Celebrate Mult-Vitamin with iron. I use the capsules because I didn’t like the consistency of the chewable. They were too powdery to me but the taste was not bad. They have the most nutrients from the comparison of others that I’ve seen. By the way I was fine with them before surgery, but after surgery it changed. So do the samples so you don’t have too many that you don’t like

Thank you ladies. Both great advice. I’ll try and track my surgeon down although it is very difficult to reach him. -
Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
traeleo replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I appreciate any information that you can share with me because I do not have a team. Right now my doctors office does not have a nutritionist or dietitian. My surgeon actually said he was not concerned about weight loss but more concerned with my Gerd. So I’m kind of new at this. I’m just going by the directions that I got from my sleeve surgery. But I think that there is a difference and I have no one to ask but everyone on here. So I really really appreciate your response and any other little tidbits you can share. -
Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
traeleo replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
OK I get the intermittent fasting method burns better than regular eating. My problem is I’m confused on whether to do the fasting during the day or at night. So confused I don’t know what to do. I am 10 weeks out from a revision from sleeve to bypass should I be trying this fasting right now or is it only during maintenance? -
My revision from sleeve to gastric bypass was May 23, 2019. I am still having to battle my addiction to sugar. It’s a tool and sometimes were able to cheat but I have to learn how to stop emotionally eating and kick the sugar out the door.

How many calories do you eat a day?
traeleo replied to april042019's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes! Me too! I will be 6 weeks out as of tomorrow. I feel like I don’t even have a pouch. I want to get an X-ray to be sure. lol. I too stop from eating because I don’t want to stretch my pouch. I am getting about 500/600 calories a day. My nutritionist got promoted so I’m on my own til they find a replacement. I need to know if I’m doing the right things. I have no guidelines like I did with the sleeve. I know I am to eat less. But how much less because I don’t get full. -
Hello everyone. I am trying to find out which is better water or protein drink? I asked my surgeon and he told me to eat veggies. I don’t think he understood my question. It’s 7pm and I don’t have 60 grams of protein or 60 ounces of water. Which is best to have? Do I concentrate on the protein or the water? Also if I have reached my daily goals and have time and appetite should I do my clear protein or regular water? I can’t seem to find an answer to this so I thought I would pose it here.
-
So you basically answered my question. Of the two which one is more important to get in? Thanks. I’m thinking water too. Definitely don’t want to get dehydrated!
-
Hmmm That’s a good idea. I think I will try it. I have several episodes on my DVR.

Great job! Congratulations!

I hope you can dig up that article it would be great. The information that you have given me so far helps out quite a bit. I usually drink Premier clear protein which has about 20 g of protein. I wanted to try protein 2.0 but I don’t know how it tastes. I’m beginning to see that it’s more important to get the water then the proteins or both in one .

Elcee I am almost 6 weeks post op. If I’m getting ready to go to bed and I haven’t had my quota of water or protein, which one should I try to get in before I go to bed? Is it better to try and get all the protein in or all the water?

Odd pains - not sure if I should be worried
traeleo replied to OzCaz's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had bypass surgery on May 23rd. I am experiencing the same kind of pain. It’s not severe but very annoying. It’s like a crook in your neck type pain but on the left side under the ribs. I am concerned because my main incision was over my belly button. If you find out something let me know and I will do the same. -
I have six. I thought I had 5 until my belly button started itching on 3rd day post op. No one can really see anything when I ask them to look but I can feel it now so check that belly button throughly.

Revision to RNY
traeleo replied to Sam.is.sassy's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I really don’t know what my PH level was. I go see the doc Monday so I’ll find out then. I really hope this continues so I don’t have to take Protonix anymore. -
Revision to RNY
traeleo replied to Sam.is.sassy's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I’m 7 days post op. My revision from sleeve to bypass was March 23rd. I had really bad GERD even with liquids. I’m on clear liquids right now and I’ve had tea which usually causes an issue, but so far so good. I don’t feel that burning in my throat are feel like gagging anymore. So I’m glad I did it. RNY all the way!😉 -
Ive had no real complications either. I am 4 days post op and it feels like I’ve gotten nothing done. Did it take? I’m going to ask my surgeon for an X-ray so I can actually see things. I guess it might just mean we have great surgeons 😉

I had my bypass on May 23rd. I’m on a full liquid diet for two weeks. This is day 4 so I’m trying to enjoy the sugar free popsicles and Jell-O along with the broth and water. Thank goodness those are included because I need something else than just to drink. Getting all the water in has been a challenge but I’m getting a minimum of 40oz in. My surgeon told me not to worry about anything else but getting water in right now. I guess when I see him next week we can talk about the protein.
-
I’m 3days Post Op and am doing okay. Getting my water in is a chore. My surgeon told me to concentrate on getting my water in and that’s it. I guess we’ll talk about the protein when I see him next week. I haven’t had really bad gas pains. I think when I drink something I get a little gas bubble but thank God that’s it. I haven’t really walked too much. Because I’ve had little pain I haven’t known how much walking to do. Hoping my other surgery twins are progressing just as well or even better.

What to have at home after surgery?
traeleo replied to shellyk018's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven’t tried that! Where do you get it from? -
I too am only 3 days away. I’m on an all liquid diet but can have Jell-O and the popsicles. I am so glad that it is Ramadan so I don’t have to think about what I’m not eating. Let me know how your surgery goes. Are you going to try and fast after surgery?

I just wish Thursday will just hurry up and get here!
