It seems like the two options are dumping syndrome or GERD....I don't know which is worse? -

I already switched to the ER and had the same issues. Last week I took a smaller dose with fewer issues hopefully I can work up to the full dose....Anyone get off metformin after the surgery? Im hoping I wont have to take it anymore. Anyone taking anything else for pcos? Ive just recently started ceylon cinnamon, myoinositol and dchyroinositol...Haven't really noticed any changes but it hasnt been that long.

Try trutein sample packs and see which ones you like. You can only get them online, just search for trutein. -
I was just recently diagnosed within the past year. Ladies who are on metformin, does it ever stop making you sick?

Anyone get REALLY scared close to surgery?
hardwork&dedication replied to char3672's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have found a powerful motivator in this process is to take lots of full length "before" pictures...it helps me realize how much I want/need the "after". -
What to take to the Hospital?

Yes and of course loose clothes/undergarments and maybe sandals for discharge. -
What to take to the Hospital?
hardwork&dedication replied to MoneeMoe's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
Yeah I think it varies from hospital to hospital. Pretty much evey hospital has will give you dental hygiene products, but I've stayed at a hospital that did not have chapstick. Also don't forget contact fluid/contact case or glasses if you wear them. Some hospitals have warm blankets and some do not, keeping warm is imperative in my opinion. However, it's only one night in most cases with the gastric sleeve I guess. -

When I had my gallbladder surgery I had a massive pain in my back from the gas. I asked for a hot water bottle or heating pad from the hospital but they didn't have one. Luckily my husband was able to run home and get it for me, it really helped. I might also suggest a sleeping mask and some ear plugs. It's really hard for me to sleep in the hospital because there are so many lights and noises. Chapstick is also a must in my opinion. -

Psychological Evaluation

That's odd I think. My evaluation wasn't anything like that, to be honest it seemed like a formality for the most part. -

No, I'm going with my husband, he got me the tickets for my birthday. -
If I have my VSG surgery on July 21st, will I be well enough (in most cases) to go to a concert on August 4th? Or will I most likely be exhausted and in pain?

For reference, when I had galbladder surgery, I couldn't return to work for 3 weeks. It's an Ed Sheeran concert, I have an assigned seat. I recently had to be hospitalized (just overnight) for dehydration and exhaustion. I had very few calories and didn't drink any water even though temps were in the 100's. Ive learned my lesson, I'm all about that water now! -

I can't have my surgery in June because I still have to do a supervised diet weigh in that month and then Im predicting with waiting for the approval and final testing my surgery will be last weeks of July. Also, I work in education and the session doesn't end until July 21st (hopefully taking that day off for surgery). The other option is schedule the surgery after the concert. -
Congratulations! I will have my 5/6 visit for thr supervised diet this month...It seemed like so much time at the start, now surgery is right around the corner!

Weight gain
hardwork&dedication replied to Jesm1029's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, I understand. That's why it's so frustrating. But think about this, so far I've been losing 1-2 pounds a week (pre-op). During the 10 days I only lost those 5 pounds...And I did work out vigorously, getting 20,000 steps on some days....so it's pretty much the same as gaining 5 pounds. -

I have the same problem pre-op..I had 2 slices of pizza one day and gained 5 pounds that took me 2 weeks to lose.. -

Did I mention I had to stop at a 7-11 to get this stuff because I don't keep it at my house? Bad. -
Pre-op bad morning
hardwork&dedication replied to alcn1derlnd's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, I did the exact same thing today. Started with a protein shake..and then had chips, hot cheetos, ice cream and coke....I think I went wrong waiting too long to eat lunch and then not drinking any water at all today even though it was about 100 degrees today. I was doing so good! Lost 23 pounds on the supervised diet so far. Now I probably have to weigh at my physical therapy clearance appointment next week...Hope I can undo the damage by then. -
Anyone get REALLY scared close to surgery?
hardwork&dedication replied to char3672's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Having had galbladder surgery and other health problems that Ive been hospitalized for,Im scared of the pain because Ive had some complications before. I wake up in the middle of the night scared about it, and I havent even been approved or have a date yet.. However, I just figure I will do what I usually do and leap before I look.
