I'm so glad I looked at this thread today. I was already planning to eat some ice cream cause I'm kinda down. Hubby had a new MRI today and it looks like he has a new cancer tumor growing. We knew it was highly reoccuring but it's still a shock. So I had justified that the world/universe/etc owed me some good stuff and I was gonna eat it. Then I saw me saying I was stronger than my cravings and damn it, I am! I'll find something else to make me feel good but it won't be ice cream. LOL - no mint chocolate chip in the house anyway and coffee ice cream is good but not the same.

I'm so glad to hear you like T-Tapp. I bought the DVD a while ago but haven't put it in yet. Guess I'll switch to that as soon as I get sick of the one I'm using now. It's starting to get a bit old.

Yay Shiny!!! I'm always so happy to hear about anyone breaking a plateau.
-
That's a great one! Congrats! I looked down at my chair and well, let's just say I can feel chair on the sides. I have noticed that when I have a plateau I seem to lose the most inches. And boy, if I could explain the weight loss process I'd be a very rich woman.

Hey Ready - do you think your doctor would do a fill under flouroscope? Maybe that could get you some restriction. It will definitely help you lose more. If not, you'll eventually get there. It will just take longer. I keep thinking I'm there and then it loosens up after a couple weeks. I'm very close. Very, very close. I have noticed that mine has slowed down a lot, seems to be the same for several of us. Not sure if it's cause we're several month post op or if we've lost the easy pounds already. I'm not gonna believe that though cause I still have about 100 to go.

Vasovagal response ie fainting after fill?
Ezma replied to deneicy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Glad I found this thread. I passed out a couple days ago and woke up looking at the kitchen ceiling. I had been feeling nauseous and light-headed so I went to splash some Water on my face. That the last thing I remember before waking up on the floor. I'm sporting a huge bruise on my butt and a sore spot on my head now. I did go to the doctor and they did a CT Scan of my brain. They are relatively sure it was due to low blood pressure. I'm normally on the low side and now that I've lost 100 pounds I'm really low. When I talked to the nurse at my lap band surgeon's office she said that they usually warn people on blood pressure medication or with low blood pressure because it can happen. I have to make sure I get enough nutrition and stay hydrated. I was doing that all along but I really have to stay on top of it now. I've been light-headed on every fill and just thought it was because of the position they had me in for the fill. Now I know from reading here, that's not it. I'll have my hubby take me to every fill now. Going try the making fists tips too. If anyone finds anything that helps please post it here. -
Freaky thing happened today on the way to the sink..

Just wanted to let you guys know that I called my lap band surgeon's office today and asked them about this. She said that it's something that they warn everyone with low blood pressure or if they are on blood pressure medication. Oops, guess she didn't think about it with me. LOL. Anyway, if you are on blood pressure meds or if you normally have lower blood pressure, be careful. If you start feeling dizzy, nauseous or light-headed, lay down if you can. Keep a good eye on your blood pressure while were losing so much weight. Also, I just read that this can happen occasionally right after a fill. So if you fill light-headed after your fill, like me, be careful please. -
Okay, I'm ready to get on this now. The chocolate chips are gone from the house. Not one minty morsel of refreshing coolness left. Yep, I failed to resist it. But I have learned from it. I definitely can't have that stuff in the house yet. I feel totally able to do it now even though there are two other ice creams in there.

Really beautiful Ready! Great idea for a forum section, just wish I had something to add to it. I'm sure that many of us have been getting in to things that we have long pushed aside.

Got a third here. My father was the artist and I got my mom's craft genes. Even those I haven't done much with lately. I used to scrapbook, decorating type crafts and some stamping. Also did genealogy and all things computer pretty much. Now the only arty thing I really do is cook.

I'm so glad you posted this. I had plans to finish off the ice cream tonight. Thought about posting here in an attempt to resist and then said "Nope, I'm gonna eat it." Now I've said it, maybe I can resist it. I can do it! Though there's a big part of me that just wants to get it out of my house.
-
Sounds good to me. Though I seem to go in spurts so most weeks will be "stayed the same". Grrrrr, can you tell I have the plateau blues again? Think I'm gonna have to accept that it's not really a plateau, I just lose weight this way.
-
You can also try increasing the Water and Protein. Increasing the protein might raise your calorie intake a bit too and that can help. But I really haven't found anything that helps me much yet. Just hoping to get a couple more off before I go to the doctor next week.
-
Way to resist Tap! Glou, you and I will get back on track today. Go team!
-
Okay, I've been demoted. Tapshoes is now chair. I had ice cream again today. I'm going to have to keep my Breyers Mint chocolate Chip completely out of the house and possibly give up ice cream completely if I don't get it under control. So ticked and frustrated with myself. But it's done now, I'll just have to do better.
-
I know I'm not the best person to answer that as clearly I thought it was. Don't think it really matters when we burn through our portion as long as we keep it down to once a week.
-
Okay, after 3 days without, I broke down tonight and had my weekly ice cream. Figured it was a good day since I was low on calories and had had several low days and needed to kick it up for a day. Hope you guys hang in there longer than me, though I, of course, feel justified in eating it. LOL

So what are your plans for your band future?
Ezma replied to Mom2_4's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I figure I'll leave it as is, unless I get too skinny. LMAO - can't believe I said that. The band supposedly loses about .5 cc every 6 months on it's own. So I'll just watch it and if I start to gain and can't get it under control quickly, I can have a fill. Jeez, I love my band. -

Nope, no blood pressure meds here. I've always had decent bp, even slightly low. In fact, when I was pegnant with my son I couldn't take the stairs cause I was so light-headed from it being low. I take after my dad, he's passed out twice too, by the way. Though his was most likely due to Calcium build up in his valves. He had a replacement several years ago. If I hadn't had a complete cardiac work-up prior to the band I would have worried about that. Haven't heard anything on the CT Scan so it's probably normal. Plus today was just fine, I was back to normal. Just a weird, scary fluke I guess. -
Last night was a rough one for me too but I made it. Hubby talked me into doing a Protein shake instead. I told him that it could be my one night of the week and he laughed and said I'd already had it more than once this week. All is good though, I'm 3 days free of ice cream and I got a protein boost that I needed. SnT, Ready, Glou, how are you guys doing? Did you make it though the rough Friday?

Thanks guys. I feel all warm and fuzzy now from your kindness. Just got back from a CT Scan of my brain. The doctor thinks it's a freak one time thing from low blood pressure brought on by several things (not much to eat, pain medicine the night before, not much sleep, etc.). I too have tended to run on the low side for my blood pressure and 6 hours after the fainting, at the doctor's office, my bp was 100/60 which is a bit lower than normal for me. Because I had also had a vision problem a couple months ago he decided to do a CT Scan just to be safe. I feel fairly decent, just a bit bruised. Luckily I landed on my butt which still has some padding. Hit my arm and head but nothing big deal there. Should be back to normal tomorrow as long as they don't find anything from the CT Scan. It is really freaky to wake up staring at the ceiling and wondering how you got on the floor. LOL -
::looks around for the 7 of 9 body line:: Where do I sign up?

LOL - now I'm craving Cold Stone and bread. I can do it. I can do it. Resistance is not futile.

I let my mother buy me some new clothes today. You guys know how I felt about spending money on clothes I wouldn't wear for long but this was too good to pass up. I got 5 shirts and 7 pair of pants for right around $25.00. Then I bought one more shirt that was a bit more expensive since it wasn't marked down, it was $9.99. LOL K-Mart was having a smokin' sale. All clearance apparel was an additional 40% off. I got shirts for $2-3 and pants for about the same price. Crazy huh? If you have a K-Mart near you, you might wanna see if they are having the same sale.
