    Yummy. It think I'll have that for lunch Shiny. Sounds so good and I have it all at home if the tomatoes are still good. I was up half a pound today. Not sure why but not worried about it either. I could feel the ketosis kicking in. Today is the first day I haven't been hungry and I feel much better except for this cold that's threatening to get me. I'm not craving the carbs right now either. I am having a hard time cause I'm burning out on eggs and meat. I need to shake things up too as far as recipes.

    LOL Tap. It's fine, you can blame me. Just figure you needed to visit those nuts just to remember why you wanted to avoid them. I did really good last night. I didn't even eat the icky fudge bar. They really aren't my thing so no worries about them feeding my ice cream addiction.

    How's everyone doing? I'm doing okay. I'm not sure if I get to count last night as being good or not. I started South Beach and you get a dessert on it. There's not a lot of choices so I ended up having a Breyers Carb Smart Fudge Bar. It wasn't ice cream and I never really liked popsicles or fudgesicles so it's not my addiction but it was ice cream like in substance.

    Well, I'm very excited this morning because I'm down half a pound from my lowest so far. I know it's way too early to tell but it looks like this just might have kicked in the weight loss for me again. Yay! Does anyone know how much you lose on Phase 2 of this diet? I know they say it's about 2 pounds a week but I was wondering if it is more for Lap Band patients.

    I did pretty good today too. Was easier than I thought it would be but I'm still very hungry. Keep telling myself it's my body burning up those calories. As far as the squash goes, I looked it up on another list yesterday since I wanted some with dinner. All squash is fine except for pumpkin. I think you're fine on that pudding since the milk was good but I'd check the package for carbs as there might be something in there that will make it bad. I am concerned about the fat and cholesterol that I'm getting now. I've had my fat very low until now. And my cholesterol intake was good too. Gonna have to see if I can get that better tomorrow. Night all.

    Join us Crystal - the more the better. For lunch I had 2.5 chicken tenders (which had lemon juice in the marinade, hope it's okay) and two slices of cheese. I had about a cup of veggies total so far today, need to work on some more. Only problem I've had so far with this is that I'm starving. Same thing happened when I did Atkins in the past, hopefully that gets better in a day or so. dinner will probably be salmon and squash - yummy!

    South Beach Diet Plan

    Okay, it's the first morning and I'm charged and ready to go. Can I get you guys to post what you're eating and what you are doing for exercise? That way we can all share ideas and inspiration. This morning I had 1/2 cup greek style 0% fat plain yogurt and later on I will have a small ham and cheese omelet. Gonna also take some veggies for Snacks to work since I didn't have them in my breakfast yet. I found these Jimmy Dean frozen, pre-made omelets that don't have anything bad added to them. Think between those and the yogurt I should be in good shape for breakfast. I really like habit and the same thing over and over again for breakfast. Just getting ready to start my daily exercise - 20 minutes of aerobit workout and then a brisk 20 minute walk.

    I feel for you Denise. Why is it that I can't get myself to exercise or something when I'm stressed or depressed? Why does it have to be straight for the desserts? Hope things are better now with bf. Maybe you could beat him instead of eating - it would get rid of the stress and burn some calories. Think he'd agree to it?

    My reasons are very similar to Shiny's reasons....bad carbs are too present in my eating lifestyle now. On top of that, the weight loss seems to taper off drastically for many of us at about 6 or 7 months post op. Last month was the first month I didn't lose any weight since I was banded in February. I've increased my exercise but I'm still having a tiny bit of trouble with my food. I'm eating the right amount of food, maybe a tiny bit high, but it's mainly those evil simple carbs. Hoping this will do the trick. Keep an eye on this post and I'm sure we'll post how it's going.

    Been practicing for a couple days and think I'm finally ready to start this tomorrow with you guys. I was having lots of trouble with breakfast. I had a routine with a very easy breakfast and without that I just didn't eat. Now I have 2 quick things to go to in the morning so I should be fine. Just need to work out the snack I'm going to take to work with me and I should be rockin' it.

    Congrats smsm! You're doing really well and you have to lost weight to show for it. Yay! I ate some ice cream. Didn't help that we went to dinner at friend's house last night and guess what they had for dessert? Yep, ice cream. Wasn't too bad since I had been really good all day but it meant no weight loss for me today. Back in the saddle today, gonna try to make it all day on South Beach today. I need a jump start getting this worked out. I can already tell I'm gonna have problems since I don't have a simple, go to breakfast worked out yet. I just can't do eggs every day. I can have my yogurt, it's fat free with only 4 carbs but I usually have it with fruit. Guess I'll have to figure out how to eat it plain or something else to mix in it.

    Just want to talk a little

    Wow Shiny! Those are 3 biggies for you. Happy and sorry to hear you got your period. Must feel great knowing you're one step closer to having another child. 20 minutes? OMG! To me that's just amazing. I've just started to think that maybe one day I'll be running. I quit running about the time my boobs got big. Now with the invention of good support bras and a probably boob job in my future, I have started to think I might want to do it one day. Only problem is I hate sweating. Do you sweat a lot? Congrats, that is truly fantastic. Detached port huh? That has to freak you out a bit. I know I was very upset when they told me they couldn't get my fill in and would have to go in and fix it. Best part is the surgery to repair it was so much easier than the first one when I got banded. I'm guess they would just open your port incision back up, reposition the port and stitch it back to the muscle, good and tight. Very, very easy surgery. I know I was exercising the day after...but I wouldn't advise it for a couple days. I managed to irritate and infect my incision from it. Good luck on everything and keep us up to date. I'm sure you'll do absolutely fine with all of them.

    I'm doing okay. Back down to my low spot but just bounce up and down a pound or two. I decided I was gonna start the South Beach today instead of Monday but found out we're going to friends for dinner. Of all the things she's serving I'll only be able to eat salad and I don't do very well with the lettuce. So, here I am, half way thru the first day and doing pretty well and figure I'll have to start tomorrow or Monday with the others. Either way, the day is going well food-wise. Tap - I'm so glad you're gonna see your doctor. You've been so good and it really should be moving for you. I'm dying to see what he says about it. Wonder if it's a thyroid thing or something like that. Wishing you good luck in figuring it out. You deserve the best. Good thoughts for all. We are stronger than our cravings!
  17. Hey April, it's great to see you on again. Sorry to hear you're fighting with it right now too. Just keep in mind that it's the meds, not you. Keep your head up and keep up the good work. It will all stabilize soon. As far as weight loss meds..if it works, what the heck. I'm going on South Beach diet soon, shouldn't have to do that with the band either. But I really think I need to kick start things again. Glad to hear you've kept up with the exercise. If you're burnt out on Curves, look for something new that excites you. There's all kinds of videos on the web - aerobic, belly dancing, kick boxing, dance. Plus there's walking, biking, swimming, running, all kinds of sports. If you like it, you'll do it.

    Crystal - I'm right there with you. I'm so afraid that this is all I'm going to lose. I know it's not because I'm really determined to lose more. It is something I'm fearing though. I wonder if it's a normal stage for us. I know there's a lot of talk about the weight loss tapering off at 6 months. I just hope it kicks back in. I know I tapered off when I finally hit the half way point and I'm praying that is the problem here.
  20. Hi guys. I just threw on a pot of coffee and thought I'd take a little coffee break with all of you. How was your weekend? Anything exciting going on? We had a decent weekend. Went for a short visit to my parents, took a short walk with hubby in the wheelchair (told him it was my new piece of fitness equipment) and had some friends over for lunch and a movie yesterday. It was great to be able to cook healthy for people other than my family and have them enjoy it. Dessert was another story - was delicious but far from healthy.

    What state are you in Tap? Do you have a Trader Joe's, Sprouts, Sunflower Market, Fry's, Albertson's, Whole Foods or Safeway? I know all of those carry them here in Arizona.

    Sounds very similar to the way I was eating then too. But I am gonna miss my fruit like crazy. I'm excited to start it and hope like heck I can do even close to as well as Crystal did.
