I just wanted to say that my fill was also pain-free. Yeah!! I was a little nervous after reading some of the horror stories. My doc used an ultra- sound to find the port and put the needle right in. No discomfort at all. I also don't have to be on liquids or any special diet. He is more lenient and told me to listen to my body. So we will see. I have my second fill July 3rd hopefully it goes as smooth. Laura

Lori, Have you talked to your lapband office about your late appt? Maybe they can work with you to keep on schedule. I was a self pay so I didn't have to jump through any hoops. Dr Kirshenbaum in Denver did my consults over the phone. And the nutritionist did as well. It was a problem free, easy process. Of course it cost me $10,000. But it was well worth it. Thank you so much. I tightened it today and it already feels better. I made my coaching session for June 25th so I am looking forward to talking to an expert. Glad to hear you love yours so much. I have also not made my band PUBLIC knowledge. My CLOSE friends and relatives know and they are really supportive. I've lost 25lbs so far and feel way better already. I get my first fill on the 12th so we'll see if weight comes off faster. I am an avid pickleball player and can get to the ball faster now and my game has improved a lot. When are you being banded? I have my first fill next Thursday. I have to travel from Montana to Colorado so I hope I feel restriction. I will be back in Denver Three weeks later. Do you think they will do another fill that soon? Thanks, Laura

Ok I am so excited. I got my bodybugg today. Yeah!!! I set up my account and started wearing it right away. The only problem I am having is the velcro on the armband is hurting my arm. Anyone else have this? Maybe I am wearing it wrong. I'll have to figure something out. When I was playing pickleball today at the YMCA I had to keep sliding it up. I wonder if I should tighten it before playing or if I had it wrong. Anyway I guess I'll have to keep playing with it and write down my questions for my coaching session. Laura

I went to Dr Kirshenbaum in Denver. It was $9950. The first three months of fills are free and then they are only $15 after that. I live in Montana so I had to travel but it still saved me $7000. We did consults over the phone and it only took me about a month to get my surgery. The whole team was AWESOME!!!

Ok, now we are reaching the three week mark. How is everyone feeling? I only have port pain if I bend over a certain way. Other than that I am pain free. It is so exciting because I was a little nervous after surgery. The pain was pretty intense and I have a hard time sleeping on my back. We were camping again this weekend and I could actually go on walks and play more with the kids. Which is a good thing since we are going again on Weds. thru Monday. One thing that I have noticed in the past week is that I feel more restriction than before. How weird is that? I guess I haven't totally figured this out yet? How is the exercise regimen? I don't really have a plan but I NEED one!!! Take care, Laura

Went camping this weekend. It actually went really well. I feel tired today but not much pain. It snowed 11 inches in Red Lodge on Friday when we were setting up camp. That was a bummer! But of course it all melted Saturday. How was everyone's mothers day? I have a 5 and a 6 year old that made me some paper flowers. Very cute!! My very best present was the lapband!!! I really over did it yesterday. I only sat down for about an hour. So it was lights out at 8:00. Today I didn't do much and even took a 2 hr nap. Yeah!!! I feel awesome. I can get out of bed with little pain and walk upright. It's the little things huh? I still haven't figured out if my tummy hurts from the gas or if it's because I'm hungry. Trial and error I guess. I feel a lot better today. I think I didn't eat enough yesterday because I felt blah all day. I also have that pain in the middle of my back. I think it's from over compensating for the pull I feel in the port site. I seem to walk with my shoulders forward some. Really trying to staighten up. Hope everyone is feeling better. Laura

Each day has gotten easier. I stopped pain meds today and my port site only hurts sometimes. But now that I am more alert, I am very bored. :bored:Mentally I have so many things to do. Until I stand up and realize nothings going to get done. I had part of a can of creamy tomato soup the kind that you just drink out of the can. And it really hit the spot. My husband has been doing everything for the kids and himself. I am very lucky. Hope everyone is getting better as well. Take care, Laura

Just been hanging out on the recliner. Slept some on the couch because my back was hurting. And the couch kindda props me up so I can sleep on my right side. I feel really good until I stand up and then I get tired really easy. Very frustating grrrr. How long should it take to get over the wooziness? Luckily, I am a stay at home mom because I don't know how I'd be able to work in a week. The only spot that hurts is my port incision. It feels like it's being dragged to the ground when i am walking. Although it does feel better than yesterday. Take care, Laura

Man who new this would be sooooo nerve racking. I said goodbye to my family and I leave for the airport in an hour. My pre-op appt is today @ 4:30. So I'll get to meet everyone for the first time. My surgery isn't until 11:00 tomorrow so I'll have some time in the morning. Looking forward to actually being in the banded stage. Goodluck to everyone.

I have been kind of nervous all weekend. I am ready to get it done so I can stop worrying about it already. My pre-op diet has been great. I had to do Atkins so thats been pretty simple. I am so glad that I didn't have to do the liquid diet. I fly to Denver tomorrow @ noon. And I'll fly back on Thursday afternoon. So I am a little nervous about going without my husband but he has to stay with the kids. After reading this site for 2 months a lot of people say it's not that bad. So I am really hoping I am one of those people. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Good luck to all of us. I look forward to seeing how well everyone is doing. Laura

Hello everyone. This is my first post. I am having my surgery on April 30th with Dr Kirshenbaum. I have been doing Atkins for the last week and only have 1 more to go. Luckily I don't have to do the liquid diet:smile2: I live in Billings MT and originally had my surgery scheduled in Great Falls for $7000 more:thumbs_down: I grew up in Denver and still have family there so that makes it pretty nice. I have been reading about everyones successes and I am ready to have some of my own. Thanks for sharing.
