Banded For Over 4 Years ?

well, whats happening to me is also rare, according to my doc, and in his opinion i shouldv gotten the bypass, my surgery was 4 years ago, for the 1st 2 years it was all good, i lost 85 ponds, and then problems began to develop, with my esophogus, every night before i went to sleep i would throw up, and it didnt matter if i ate late or not, drank late or not, i always had the feeling that somehin is stuck in my chest, and i had to throw up, to atleast sleep at night, this went on for a while, close to a year. I understood that it wasnt normal, and i had to tell my doc. Doctor said that i have a lazy esophogus, and its tired of pushing, the only solution was to empty out the band and let my esophogus rest. it rested for about 3 months, ive gained 20 pounds, and since then in the span of maybe 8 months, i have regular monthly fills, very little ones, cause im scared to go back to the throwing up state, so instead of loosing, i just keep gaining, i gained 40 pounds now. very scary, dont know what to do

    Captive audience

hi,i was banded 5/21/08,and since then had lost 70 pounds as well but for the last 3-4 months it isnt moving,so ive had 6 fills so far,and 2 weeks ago i went in for an other fill, and had same experience as you,the doc started like you said grilling me about what i eat,and i did stray a little with sweets,so he told me that he will not be giving me a fill, not cause he was mean, but cause he cares,he told me to go home ,with out a fill, and try to eliminate all the bad foods that i started eating, and come back in 3 weeks,so im trying, but ye,you at least got your fill
  5. on the 21 of march, was my 10th month, and im really having trouble loosing anything anything,it all began after 7th months,i keep going for fills almost once a month, and still cant loose nothing,i dont know whats wrong

    Is LapBand for Me???

i have been exactly where u are,i had taken medication,i believe it was phendymetrazine, for about 2 years,i had lost 40 pounds in the first 6 months, havent lost a pound since then,i just took the pills cause i was scared of gaining the weight, when i would take a few days break from the pills i would gain about 5 pounds, and that really scared me,but deep down i knew i couldnt do it for the rest of my life,i had no metabolism like u said,so i started to look into the band, and i did it,and i think its the best thing that i did for myself,i know there are a lot of questions, and you cant understand what will happen to you after surgery, but it all falls into place, and you begin to live differently, and feel differently,i really do recommend it

    eating obsessivly

when i knew i was scheduled for surgery on may 21,i started feeling like i was saying goodbye to someone close to me-food,i was eating everything and anything, and said to myself, well ill eat this, cause i'll never be able too again, and i just couldnt understand, how i;ll be able to contain myself, then,if i cant control it now,i've had the surgery, and beleive it or not ,i'm fine, and i see now that it is managable(so far,its only been a week),so dont worry ,enjoy, eat
