I'm sure you look great and you'll knock their socks off! I don't really have a cookbook I just kinda wing it. I'll try to find some recipes for you.

YEA! less then 20lbs to go. I had enough calories yesterday to last the week, Chillin in the pool and drinking wine with my girls and man do I feel it today YUK!

It's a good thing you can't eat pasta rice or bread because they're on the no no list, Sometimes I get stuck on chicken also mostly white meat so I started cooking it in the crockpot and add different seasonings to go with what ever mood I'm in. It seems to stay a lot more moist and goes down better.

I started losing weight right away because of changing my eating habits, If your asking when you get restriction that depends no one can really say because everyone is different and also get different fill amounts.

BMI 40 and 230 lbs - how much can I lose?
kimaly replied to incolorado's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think they say about 60%of your excess weight but it will be up to you, You can lose it all If you remember the band is a tool and you have to do a lot of hard work because it won't do it by itself. good luck! -
perductive burping (not sure I spelled that right) The food will come back up but unlike throwing up you don't have the stomach acid in it. Slime-kinda like PB but it's not food just a very very slimey salava. Hope this helps. OH, you'll know it if it happens just remember chew chew chew and when your done chew. Good luck on your banding.:scared2:

Wow, they tell me 1200 but I find that to difficult at 3 meals a day and a half cup at a time. I try to get a protein drink in here snd there but am not that great at getting all the water in.
-
yes, some do lose faster but try to remember that slow and steady wins the race. I lost pretty fast the first few months then it slowed to a crawl. When you get upset remind yourself that this is the time for healing the losing will come. I promise. I'm really glad to hear your feeling better. Just hang in there! Hugs!

I have to go with Life is not fair and no one said it was gonna be. This is a small hump in the road and your just gonna have to step over it. We all go through bandster hell. although I feel for you I can think of a lot worse things in this world that aren't fair. i don't want you to think I'm unfeeling or anything but just want you to know that this to shall pass. And some people do get restriction for awhile with the first fill, everyone is different. So here's wishing you the best and telling you to just hang in there. OH and my first fill was in sept. and my second wasn't until Nov. I am a year out and have had only 4 fills. You just can't base yourself on everyone else because everyone is different.

I agree, I've been thin and fat. I think some people only show you what they want you to see skinny or fat. And remember alot of skinny people are funny and sweet also, It's not just a fat thing. I know a lot of fat people that can be pretty nasty with others also. And I beleave you will change also hopefuly for the better. It's really up to us. The friendships you have do change, some for the better and some will end but I'm ok with that because the ones that end I don't think were strong enough to begin with.

That's amazing! Congrats!!!:juggle: -
That's so sad and at the same time funny as you know what. I guess we all have our crosses to bare. I hope your mother is doing good now and as for the joint pain that can be a terrible thing, I have a sister with those problems and she always tells me how bad it is.

I would like to eat a biscuit just once in awhile. But I guess it's best I can't because I was a bread addict before banding. But oh how I miss it. I also can't seem to get into the exercise thing. I'm not lazy because I stay busy Just hate exercise, I just can't seem to find anything I really enjoy. Never did really get into sports even as a child. Guess I'm just to girly. The Doc. is concerned about my cholesterol and gave me a list of foods to avoid and I just felt like sitting down and crying because my diet is so limited now and he just wiped half the stuff I could eat out. It just pissed me off although he asures me it's not my fault it was just something I was born with and it also has something to do with the fact I can't process carbs which causes the weight issues. It didn't make me feel any better and now I'm gonna be on meds for the rest of my life according to him. That sucks because I got off all the meds I was on a month after banding and was very proud of that. Well, enough whinning for one day as I'm sure people have a lot worse issues to deal with. Just had to get out a little fustration, as always thanks for listening.

I haven't been able to eat anything with bread since banding so pizza isn't a coice for me. But I have to confess that I did eat the toppings off a piece a couple of times when I took the grandbabbies to chuckie cheeses And it was SOoooooo good. I can eat scrambled egg beaters, haven't seem to have a problem with them. These days most of my meals consist of eather fat free cottage cheese, deli meat(shredded) and steamed vegs. And don't forget the morning protein drink. I think I'm addicted to them now. Kinda sad I guess.

I got stuck on a poched egg yesterday. I think I just eat to fast still. Slowing down has really been hard for me. I was a hair stylist and I'm so use to eating on the run It's just a really hard habit to break. I don't think I sat down for lunch in 30 years. It really sucks. Try to stay away from the ice cream, I'm almost sure it's one of the seven deadly sins! :smile2:

Who knows about your surgery?
kimaly replied to Rocky_Mountain_Mama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not ashamed. I agree with restlessmonkey, I was ashamed when I was fat but not because of other people more at myself. I don't really care what other people think of me. I care what I think of me. Also if talking about it can help someone else all the better. I don't just walk up and tell people but if they ask how I've lost so much weight I tell them a lot of hard work and the help of lap band. -
Sorry to hear of all your trouble, Here's hoping alls well from here on out.

For me, I'm at 72lbs lost and 20lbs to go. My fill is at 5.8 in a 10cc band but my fill level is only 9cc's. My goal may not be as low as some of you others, I'm shooting for 155lbs because I'm 5"6 and kinda wide. What are some of ya'lls goal weights and how tall are ya? -
I know what you are saying, I really had a hard time dealing with that myself. It was terrible when I quit smoking. I thought I would go insane. And my progress with my band really showed it. Trying to get back on track is hard but I'm gonna do it.

How often do you weigh in?
kimaly replied to Erin 6-9-2009's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
To much! I'm one of those people that can't resist getting on the scale every time I walk into the restroom. I don't think it's a good idea, But can't seem to resist. It's kinda funny in a since as I can remember avoiding them at all cost. I didn't even own one until I started my pre-op. I would like to get it down to once a week, I'm working on that. Sometimes I tell myself I'm not getting on that thing but always turn around walk right back in there and jump on. I know terrible! -
I want to hear about........
kimaly replied to beccab1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Paint my toe nails by bending down to them instead of pulling my foot up to me! Also ride a horse, That was my turning point for wanting the band. My DH and I went on vacation (before the band ) And decided to go horseback riding, When we got there the lady behing the desk asked me how much I weighed in front of everyone while she proceeded to explain to me that they had a 225lbs weight limit. And with me standing there weighing in at 252 felt like crawling under a rock if I would have fit. So now the only thing I get asked is english or western. It feels great!!! -
Joiful, Just wondering how much weight you've lost as you never seem to mention it and I remember you weren't all that big in the begining compared to alot of us. I know you've had some terrible struggles with your fills. I also wanted to remind you not to look at others numbers because it has to be based on % of your over all weight and not just in lbs lost.
