    Complications - 1 year out

Loved it!!! it made me smile:biggrin:
  3. I think your right about that. but I just don't care what people say because I don't know anyone who has the band that has gained their weight back and the only ones on the forums I notice gaining weight back are the ones that don't follow the rules so I don't really worry about that. I guess I'm slack on the exercise and that's why it's taking me so long. I seem to start and stop over and over agaln. I'm really gonna work hard on that because your right if i can't do anything else I can walk. Can I ask you how far do you walk each day?

I hope everyone had a fantastic Mother's Day!!! I weighed today instead of my normal Tuesday morning weigh in and what the heck... I am up 2lbs and have no idea why. These are the times I get SOoooo fustrated. I really really hate moving my ticker the wrong way. Darn it!!!
  5. Congrats, I can't begin to think about the 130's. I'm fighting really hard to get to 150. I have just a few more pounds to go and they just don't seem to want to lrt go. You have done really well and once again congrats on all the hard work. I noticed you were banded the same day I was just a year later and you've lost so much, any secrets you want to share(LOL) I guess I'll get there I think I'm just a bit of a slow loser it doesn't really bother me as long as i'm losing. and I'm sure I'll get there sooner or later.

  8. I think she is very disturbed, I'm thinking at 600lbs she may feel it's too hard to loose so why not make everyone think you want to be that big. She really needs help. Someone should take her to Brooklyn clinic at let her see how someone of that size struggles to survive. She is selfish because she has a daughter and she's not putting her first. she needs her mother and her Mom is pretty much killing herself. I find it quite sad and hope she can get a grip on reality before it's to late.
  9. This is just an example of why I go by weight and not size. I went shopping yesterday and bought a size 6 capris, Now no way I wear a size 6. The last time I was a size 6 was about 20yrs ago and I weighed 120lbs I know for a fact my 154lb body does not go in a 6 yet they fit so I take them with a smile on my face. Go to the next store and grab a size 6 dress slacks and could not get them anywhere near zipped, ended up with a size 10 and again this happens when I grab a pair of jeans. Ended up with a size 8 so inconclusion I am somewhere between a 6 and a 10 depending on what I'm buying and where I'm buying it. I just can't go by that it's too iffy but at the end of the day I still weigh 154lbs and that just seems a little more exact too me.

Going swimsuit shopping when I get off work UGH!!!! It supposed to be 90 on Sun so I will have my happy butt on the boat (can't wait) But nothing from last year fits so I'm off to the mall. I ordered one off line but it's on back order, Which bites because I can't seem to find a one peice that fits with big enough cups. I got a nice cover up now I just need something to cover up. I'm sure I'll be a little aggravated with the saggy inner thigh skin thing going on But I'm trying to remind myself it's better then not fitting into one. Wish me luck.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Don't worry about your check up I'm sure you'll do fine. Stress can really do a number on our bands, I know when I'm stressed out my band is really tight. Anyway good luck on your appt. and I'll put your family in my prayers.

    I am really confused.....

I think we should always follow the Doctors plan but I would ask him why he has you on such a low calorie count. They have me mutiply my weight by 7 and that's my calorie count, It goes down as I lose weight because the less you weigh the less you need. With that being said if you are going to increase your count I think you should increase it with better food choices, try to remember those are the foods that got you here in the first place. This is a lifestyle change, so with that you must change your lifestyle to include healthy food choices and exercise. Some people beleave if you let your calorie count get to low your body will go into stavation mode and maybe that is true for some but I know of others that do 800 to 900 calories aday and have done quite well. That's why I say talk to your Doctor. Good luck on your journey.

    Horrified at Australian surgeon

All I can say is I wish I had been able to do this well before my BMI got to 40, Each and everyone of us has our own reasons for getting it. I just don't think I will ever understand why it bothers some of those with a high BMI that someone would take control before it gets that bad. I say more power to them. And just a little advise my Daddy gave me: Beleave none of what you hear and only half of what you see.

I don't really have restraint, I slip up often. I just try to make up for it on the days I don't. I'll slip almost once every other week like this weekend I ate 2 brownies. But I did good the rest of the week and somehow managed to lose a pound. I wish my eating habits were better, I'll just have 3 or 4 shakes(Atkins or EAS) aday and maybe a Gordons grilled filet. I know I don't eat like I should. And I was stuck for a pretty long time until I had my last fill in Jan. Since then I have been loosing pretty steady. Mostly a pound a week and some weeks it's none. When was the last time you had a tweek? It could be as simple as that. I notice that we've lost the same amount so all in all you are at least doing as well as me. Don't let it get you down because that just makes it even harder to stay on track. I know for myself I really really need to work on my eating habits. They just arn't as healthy as they should be.

    Procedure costs.

Dr.Tad Grenga works out of Chesapeake and Harbor Veiw in Suffolk. He's really good. I had a TT from him about 5 yrs ago(before Band) and he did a great job. He also works with operation smile.
  21. I had a lift prior to the band. The Doctor took me from a DD to a B, I was so depressed. I thought I was just getting them picked back up. I went back about 6mo. after getting banded and got implants to fill them out. She took me back to a D/DD. I do wish I had waited until after the weightloss because they looked fine with some weight on me but now that I'm almost at goal weight they look HUGH. But on the bright side they are the only thing I really like when I'm naked. They look better now then they did in my 20's, Just HUGH. Although I wish I had waited I am glad I had them done because I really have very little breast tissue of my own left and don't even want to think about what they would look like now. My friend had RYN and lost a ton of weight and hers are just scarey!!! I'm so excited she is getting hers fixed next month, I know she will feel a lot better about herself.
  22. I have 12 tats and they all are doing fine. I learned a long time ago to place them in places that don't sag when gravity takes it's toll, lesson learned when I was young I had a unicorn put on my chest as as I got older and the girls went due south it started looking like a giraffe with a horn in his head. Thanks to a breast lift(prior to band) he's back to being a unicorn. So I think it just depends where you put them. My sons a tatoo artist so it's really hard not to go crazy with them. But so far so good, I've only had him do 1 for me. The rest I've had a long long time.
  23. If this is the case I'd say your to tight, Please get it taken care of as soon as possible. It can cause serous problems. I had to have a slight unfil after my second fill. No big deal but alot of releif.
  24. Sometimes it takes awhile to get to restriction, I think only a few hit it with the first fill. It will come in time. It took at least 3 for me to really feel it and a forth to get my sweet spot. It's a work in progress and can't be rushed. and just to let you know it's worth the wait. Good luck on your journey.

    Swimwear to cover thigh sag!

Hey, I had that mom. With that being said I must say I still beleave a woman can be beautiful at any size it just depends on how you carry yourself. I think I worry more about the loose skin and the fact I look so much older then I did about how the weight looked on me. My main thing is I feel so much better and I can do so much more then I use to be able too. As much as I don't like the old thing it's a fair trade off for me.
