I think I made a mistake!!
kimaly replied to beachcitygirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I was in that boat, I had a lift 2mo. before banding. The Doc took me down to a B cup and I was wanting a full C. I was devastated and thought for sure I was going to have Frankinboobs forever. 6 mo. after banding I was still upset because they looked so small and the top was kinda flat so I insisted on implants wanting to be a full C or small D But I came out with 38DD's Now that I'm almost to goal they look hugh, Perky but hugh. So my advice is to wait until you get to goal weight before you decide you don't like them. I want to add I love my new boobs now but wish I had waited until I was at goal so they were sized to fit my new body more. But live and learn. -
what do you do for exercise?
kimaly replied to jllybean1982's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate to admit this but I don't do enough exercise. In the winter I use the Wii and thank god it's summer and got the pool open yesterday. Swimming is my choice of exercise. -
LMAO If it zipped it counted, Congrats, In a couple of weeks you'll be able to sit in it. It's a great feeling isn't it? Sometimes I really just want to tell people to look at my tag but it's so wrong in so many ways. But I do make my daughter look, she's the only one I can get away with it with.

I also have a 10cc AP band with a 9cc fill level:thumbup: So far so good and loving it!!!!!

What is your favorite diet-friendly, non-carbonated alcoholic drink?
kimaly replied to sawyer77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good idea!!!!!!!!! -
You'll be fine, Some people can be a little harsh. But I think most have slipped up from time to time. The only people that bother me are the ones that talk about eating pizza, ice cream and other junk and then later complain that the band doesn't work. The fact that you are concerned about it is enough or me. Once again, You'll be fine.

Marie, Glad you rejoined us. Cryz, I think a fill might do you well. But don't worry to much things can change. Last year was a slow year for me maybe 15 to 20lbs. I got a fill in Jan. and have lost pretty steady since. Well, up into this last 3 weeks. No loss again this week but I got my pool open and swimming is great exercise so maybe it will help. I'm still fairly slack when it comes to the exercise. Start and stop. It's crazy, no excuses for that. It's just what I do. I wish I could be one of the people that started running and loved it but truth be told I loath it. So maybe the pool will help. I do love the water and know I have to do the swimming instead the floating and tanning. I'm gonna really try to work on that. How's everyone else?

OK I'm slow, Well that's doable so just ignore my prior post except for the Welcome part!!

I'm still confused, We already had New Years 2010 the Next New Years is New Years 2011 which is 6mo. from now right? Do you mean 2012?

Marie is right, You are in the healing stage not losing. May have not been the best choice but most of us do that from time to time. I had coffee ice cream yesterday and I'm 22mo. out. (and it was too die for) Just a little and I think that's OK from time to time according to my fill center if you eat and follow the rules 99% of the time that 1% shouldn't hurt you. Mind you I'm not trying to encourage you to eat junk I just don't want you beating yourself up for 1 small slip up. put it behind you and move on. My suggestion is the same as Marie's keep a protein drink or something like that in your bag so if you can't get what you want somewhere you will have a healthy fall back.

Just wanted to welcome you! I looked at your goal and I will tell you goals are great for keeping on track but if you set them high and don't allow enough time to reach them it could set you up for failure. It could be done I suppose but expecting a 140lb loss by New years and you haven't been banded yet is pretty harse. I'm not trying to discourage you I wish you all the best and am glad you are joining us but don't want to see a post from you in the near future about how the band isn't working. We see that way too often Maybe you could just give yourself a little more time on that goal and set a mini goal for New Years like say half of that. That would be totaly doable and will make you feel great when you hit it. Anyway I hope I don't sound to negitive because that's surely not my intentions. The band is the best thing I have ever done for myself and I'm sure you'll do fantastic. Welcome and hope to see a lot more post from you on your progress. Kim

I'm really glad to hear that. I think it's the right decision. I'm also glad to know you have a supportive family, I know it really helps. But try to stay on the boards, as much as others try to understand I just think it's just easier for those of us that are going through the samethings. Please let me know how it goes. Best wishes

Marie, Sorry I don't have some wonderful advice for you but I just wanted to let you know that I care and I'll put you in my prayers. Sorry abut the extra money I know it can be really tough in this economy. But at least you know what the problem is and it can be fixed. Miss you on the home thread!! Best wishes, Kim

can I be banded with hypoglycemia?
kimaly replied to fatgirlnomore7's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Hypoglycemia, Even before banding I was told to eat 5 SMALL meals a day never large meals. But the band has helped me a lot I eat healthy now which is great for the Hypoglycemia. You shouldn't have a problem as long as you follow the proper diet. The liquid phase was a little tough but it's doable. I have good restriction now so sometimes, well most of the time I'm to tight in the morning to eat and that's the meal I seem to need the most but I grab a protein shake first thing and wait awhile until I loosen up to do breakfast which usually consist of a protein bar and have no problem with lunch or dinner. Just follow your Doctors orders and I'm sure you'll be fine. -

I'll chime in here: I think it helps to lose the weight slower but some people well I should say alot of people end up with loose skin no matter what. I had a TT 4 or 5 years before I got the band so the bottom of my tummy has held up pretty good if I do say so myself but the top is wrinkley and I could really use another one and I always say my inner thighs look like the mudd flaps on the back of a semi. I think that's what bothers me the most. I've also had a breastlift and reduction. For some reason the Doctor took me down to a B cup:cursing: so about 6mo. after being banded I went back in for implants and it brought me back to a DD and now that I've gotten so much smaller my breast look hugh. Don't get me wrong I luv my breast. But they just look really big now. So the advice I will give you is just wait and see exactly what your body is going to do before you decide on Plastic surgery. I am all self pay and between 3 breast surgeries the lap band and the prior tummy tuck I am about $30 grand into this and that's not counting on going fills so I just don't see how to justify spending anymore on PS even though I would love to have another TT and inner Thigh lift I'm pretty sure it won't happen. Hope this helps you at least a little bit. Lots of luck!!

I llke the terriaki tender steaks, Beef jerky is to chewy but the tender chunks break down good and have 70 calories per serving and 10 grams of protein. I also roll up lean lunch meat and snack on that. pure protein bars for a meal sub is good also.

What is your goal weight for your height?
kimaly replied to gingerjane's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's vanity sizing. The last time I was in a size 6 was about 25 years ago and I weighed less then 125lbs now I am wearing a size 6 (depending on what I'm buying sometimes an 8) and I'm 154lbs and 5'6. People have gotten bigger and so the clothes have gotten bigger. That's the good Ole USA, If we were down under we would be about a size 12 or so. Crazy isn't it? But I have to admit I love being able to say I wear a size 6. Size 6 and overweight in the same sentence is one hell of an oxymoron isn't it? -

What is your goal weight for your height?
kimaly replied to gingerjane's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5'6 and my goal weight is 150. It was 160 until I got there and really wanted to get into the healthy range and not even be considered overweight for the first time in 25 years. Almost there. -
Everythings fine on my end. Take that pound with pride everyone counts and your doing fantastic. You have had a steady loss since you started the shake thing. You can't do better then that.

Just dropping by to say Hi! I noticed you were from Brunswick, GA You don't see too many people from there. I was born there so I just thought I'd say hello.

Thanks for the info JllyBean & Amy, I do eat the pure protein bars but I've not seen the pre made shakes. I went to the site and it gave me a few places to check. I'll be looking for them. Thanks again.
