Is plastic surgery the answer?
cori in wa replied to ginger12/26's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
That's a tough question and one you alone can decide for yourself. I've been a yo-yo dieter my whole life so I've gained and lost a lot of weight. When I was in my 20's my skin DID tend to shrnk back fairly well and fairly quickly. Not perfect, but not enough for surgery. I'd encourage you to wait 3-6 months and see how YOUR skin does. It may surprise you in a pleasant way! If not, you'll have been at your goal wweight longer and you might be perfectly ready for a more permanent change. Best of luck with your decision! -
Approved!! But, I need help making a decision. Please!!!!

I also live in Western WA (SW actually) and I think I'd get another opinion or two if I were you. Either from this area (Portland maybe? Or are you closer to Seattle?) Seems kind of high compared to what others have paid. Best of luck! -

Kareyquilts TT, BL, Lipo & BA
cori in wa replied to kareyquilts's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Holy schmoly! After reading through everything I feel as if I truly know all of you. Your pain, your concerns, your discouragements, your fears and your triumphs. Bless you and thank you for sharing your remarkable journeys. Your willingness to let others live through your experiences makes the whole adventure and process seem so much more real. I'd never truly considered lipo/tt/breast lift until reading about all of you. I'm 5'8, about 250 and 43. I know all that skin has to go somehwere! Now I'm not only encouraged and less fearful, but excited about the future. So, thank you all and very best wishes for continued healing, success and joy. -

29Feb - losingjusme's plastics day

Congratulations and I hope your tree trunk syndrome goes away soon! I may have missed it (and very sorry if I did) but I am curious why you chose to have your reconstructive surgery now as opposed to when you reach your weight loss goal? Hope you feel well soon! I read through more closely and saw why you had your surgery before reaching goal. Congrats again on all of your many accomplishments! -
soon to be getting my band
cori in wa replied to koswalt4's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Another newbie here. I got my band date today (soooo excited!) and have been reading/lurking for about three months, pending finalization of my surgery. Folks here seem VERY friendly and helpful and a wonderful means of both information and support. Best of luck to you as you go through the process. -

Hello! I've not yet been banded (very soon, yeah!) but I enjoy seeing and hearing about others in the same boat. Be sure and check the B/A pictures thread.... so inspiring! -
Keeping it a secret?
cori in wa replied to Fluffy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I work in a small unit in a large hospital and I've told those in my unit, as well as my husband. Actually, several of the folks in this unit have had WLS and are, in large, the reason I decided to pursue it. I'm having my GB removed at the same time so for those "outsiders" that ask I'll respond with the GB info. I'm a fairly private person and feel more comfortable with only a few knowing all the details. -
Bet that feels GREAT. Congratulations!

Congratulations! It's those "little" things that truly mark this journey of a changed/changing life.
