Sleeve to Bypass
nomorefattypatty replied to nomorefattypatty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can anyone tell me about taking medicine after the gastric bypass, I take some bipolar meds, and of course I take vitamins after having the sleeve. I take 6 calcium citrate tablets, 3 multi vitamins daily has anyone had trouble taking their meds? Sent from my N9560 using BariatricPal mobile app -
I'm definitely not staring at people or telling them that I had weight surgery. I just look and I was also looked at and I wore a big coat most of my fat days. Mostly because men would stare at my chest because my chest grew to a 42J size and now I'm normal again. I'm a 38D now which is what I've been my whole life. I had to have breast augmentation because my back was killing me by then. I certainly am not trying to hurt a person that's obese. I just can't help but see them when they are in the skinny ass clothes, but I'm not staring and making comments, if someone wants to know I tell them. That's it! What I think and how I act towards overweight people is not making fun of anyone, and I mostly look because it keeps me mindful of what I went through just to get where I'm at now. Yep, and it's fun but I'm not harming anyone. I've been doing it forever, I didn't get fat until I quit drugs and substituted with food. I'm now going on my 9th year. My mom even people watches and she's 77 it's just good fun, and nowadays this depressed world needs a little laughter. I am a caretaker for my father 24-7, mom helps but she is 77 and it's very stressful to try and handle the both of them. Sent from my N9560 using BariatricPal mobile app

I have empathy, I do enough volunteer work. I take care of my father every day 24-7 7 days a week. Both of my parents are elderly, dads 85 and moms 77, my father has dementia and ahlzeimers, my mom not too much yet. So if I enjoy people watching because I have to look up, to keep from walking into others I have no choice but to see them in all their glory with they're skinny pants. I am going to see them and I am going to think things. You don't have to like it, no-one does but the person that started this thread said he did it too so I thought that was funny too because I'm not the only one Sent from my N9560 using BariatricPal mobile app

At least you're being honest, I'm not talking about pointing people out and laughing at anyone. I'm simply saying that when I'm in a store and a fat or skinny or any type of weird looking person walks in my path, yes, I check them out. Sometimes you have them in line at the checkout, you can't unsee that. People watching is more like a hobby for me and it's fun. I'm just being honest with it, because if anyone says they don't see this kinds of stuff they are lying. Thanks for being honest! Sent from my N9560 using BariatricPal mobile app

If you're insecure about people watching then don't do it. It's not my intention to put anyone down but if you want to play all high and mighty and act like you don't notice such things you're a hypocrite and a liar. I'm extremely confident, it's human nature to look at others and if they want to dress like pigs they can. I reserve the right to be free to look at what I want and freedom to think whatever I want. It's no different than seeing a homeless person and walking on the other side of the street to avoid them. I've seen alot of people do that. You want to act perfect go ahead, I'm just being honest because I am definitely a people watcher. Sent from my N9560 using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm not silently hating anyone, but if they dress with their ass and boob's hanging out when they are obese, then people will judge and look and you can't unsee something. They shouldn't hang everything out there if they don't want to be noticed. Even skinny people are noticed I don't think this is fat or thin argument. It's about having a little class and getting noticed for the right reasons and everyone notices other people you're lying to yourself if you say you've never done it. Get honest at least. dumping with artificial sweetners
nomorefattypatty replied to TakingABreak's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm having trouble with gastritis and it's burning up my esophagus. My Dr ordered the EGD with bravo, however my gastritis was so bad they didn't put the camera in. I'm seeing the Dr on Monday, has anyone else had this happen? Did they switch you to the bypass? After already having the sleeve I'm concerned that it will cause more problems than its worth having but I see no other options to fix this. I wake up in the middle of the night with vomit coming up from my stomach and it burns my esophagus so bad I have to use my rescue inhaler just to breathe, any information would really be appreciated. OK hold on, I used to judge fat people when I was fat, my mom and I have always been people watchers. Lol, it's not being rude to people it's only for our amusement. It's interesting and I don't judge really morbidly obese people because I sincerely feel bad for them and that's a dilemma I have complete empathy for. I feel so bad for people when I see them struggling just to breathe, and they have to use electric chairs just to go to Walmart. It's very sad, not amusing at all. With that being said, we do find it amusing when really obese people wear clothes that are so skin tight their cellulite bumps are showing through. The funniest part is that they think it's sexy. Lol. We people watch everyone. If they dressed appropriately, it wouldn't be there to get a little laugh out of. It's harmless because people generally look at others. We also make fun of all the pants sagging going on so I don't think it's harmful as long as you're not hurting people's feelings and it's just another way to get through the day with a little fun, no harm intended. Lol, nice chatting with you. [emoji6] Sent from my N9560 using BariatricPal mobile app

You did an amazing job, I am 57 and went from 238 LBS TO SW of 209 and my weight is now 142, I had a little bit of loose skin but at the age I am I just wanted to loose weight and feel great, and I'm happy because I have accomplished my goal. I'm not going to wear a bikini I'll let you and my daughters do that, I think you were lucky about the skin because you're still young. I look and feel amazing keep up your great work you look awesome. My before and after pics are in my other phone I'll try to post later today. Great job! Yes, absolutely! If I eat protein like chicken or beef first I feel full almost immediately. I'm 1 yr and 4 months out. Still feeling full quickly but I still have to watch what I eat. I could not even eat cheese at 2 months out. I was forcing myself just to drink protein shakes. I think alot of hunger is actually a need for water. I would try drinking first and if you're still hungry then try eating. Sent from my N9560 using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm 60. Anyone else over 50 doing RNY?
nomorefattypatty replied to Pam Peltz's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm 57, had the vgs in June 2017, I'm revising to the bypass soon because of hiatel hernia and acid reflux. I literally have the acid back up into my windpipe and close off my ability to breath. I have to keep a rescue albuteral inhaler just to get breathing again. It's very scary. Sent from my N9560 using BariatricPal mobile app -
I had the sleeve in June 2017, and these last few months the acid in my stomach is backing up into my windpipe and literally burns my esophagus until I can't breathe, I instinctively grabbed my inhaler and recovered but it keeps happening so I have watch anything I eat. They don't warn anyone that this can happen, at least not me. I'm still having to lighten up my food intake a lot, has anyone else had to deal with this? They are in the process of giving me an egd with Bravo, which is a camera and they are probably going to revise to the gastric bypass anyone else experiencing this? Need some advice and a diet overhaul: 2 years post-op, 75 lbs down
nomorefattypatty replied to watchmeshine8's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I've found that even though I might gain some weight back since the surgery I can easily drop extra pounds just by getting back on track. Before surgery I could starve to death and never lose even one pound. We're all going to have to struggle with binge eating and other eating disorders because that's how we got into this position in the first place. My Fitness Pal is the best way to start. Log everything you eat because it can add up quickly and you can see where you have to cut back. You can do it! Sent from my N9560 using BariatricPal mobile app -

nomorefattypatty posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I came home on Thursday and its Saturday I've already lost another 14 lbs. I am now in onederland at 189 lbs. Haven't seen onederland since about 8 years ago. I love my sleeve, it was easy, no complications, no distress just loving my new appetite never thought this would really come true. Sent from my N9519 using BariatricPal mobile app
