Skinny Bucket List
nomorefattypatty replied to EmScaDem's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You guys are my heroes! I constantly worry about how I will handle cravings but I also have been saying goodbye to bad foods, kinda like a little funeral for each of them and burying them all. I just want the body back that got all kinds of attraction from men, I don't want a man but I miss having the control that drives them crazy lol. I also miss looking in the mirror and not being totally disgusted with the shape I've become. I also miss buying sexy and sassy clothes the most. The list is endless and I'm happy that I now have the choice to change all these characters of defects, because the last ten years have proven me defeated and I want to defeat my weight gain and never look back. Thanks for sharing, very inspiring! Sent from my N9519 using BariatricPal mobile app -
One year surgiversary!
nomorefattypatty replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
What a great transformation, you've done an awesome job, my surgery is June 21st, and I doubt I'm doing the right thing because my mom is totally against it, when I hear stories like yours I'm completely sure of my decision. I only have 80 lbs to lose but it's taking a toll on my body, my legs are in alot of pain all the time now. Thank you so much for sharing your surgiversury with all of us, your pics are so inspiring I don't think these pics are so important until you get to see such awesome inspiration like yours. GS QUESTIONS
nomorefattypatty replied to kourtbourt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The six months of diet assessment and nutrition classes are very important and necessary to learn everything you need to know on what you should know how to eat before and after your surgery. It took six months to learn it all. The only thing I have a problem with is the diet soda, no sugar, but too much diet sugar makes you crave other junk foods that you don't need to crave. GS QUESTIONS
nomorefattypatty replied to kourtbourt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery took about a month and everything was approved and they gave me my surgery and pre-op appt right away, my insurance is Aetna better health, and I'm in Chicago will be going to Loyola, Maywood for my surgery. My pre-op appt is on June 8th, my surgery date is June 21st, I only have to do one week of liquid diet, everything depends on your doctors and insurance and I will try to keep you posted. Does anyone know how has surgery helped you to stop binge eating. It seems like my appetite is off the charts lately and I'm questioning the surgery and if it will be worth it or am I just wasting my time. My family is constantly making derogatory statements that if I can't stop from eating now how am I going to handle the surgery. Sent from my N9519 using BariatricPal mobile app

Not only disease, what about train wreck, stalkers you never get exactly what you're reading, I stay single, go out with friends and keep it simple, believing in fate is how I feel and it will happen when we quit looking. The attention is great and the right guy will have the nerve or class to not just gawk at you but ask you out like a decent human being. Revel in your new body and let them take notice. I can't wait til my surgery so I can have me all gawking again, have fun with it.! Sent from my N9519 using BariatricPal mobile app

I feel the same way exactly which is also why I decided to stay single for the past ten years. I don't need or have the time to deal with dating. Right now I am 55 been there done that and I'm loving not having to deal with anyone else's crap. I'm not patient and I want what I want, I've learned not to settle after some 30 years. I'm a slow learner lol. Thank you for saying what I've felt for such a long time. It's nice to know someone else feels like I do. I also have two elderly parents, I live with my family because I am so happy here. This is the happiest I've ever been in my life. We all pay for the mortgage and I also take care of my dad who now has ahlzeimers and dementia, I fix his coffee, breakfast and lunch and dinner. I also take care of all of the upkeep on our house, painting the railings, mowing the lawn and whatever else is needed. I just haven't met anyone worth spending time with and where would I put them in my life. I believe God will intervene when he sees fit, I just don't have the time, nor do I want to make the time for someone whose going to make me resent the time I wasted. Thanks for saying what I've felt for so long I thought I was weird for feeling this way but I'm definitely not alone. TFS! Sent from my N9519 using BariatricPal mobile app

Just the beginning
nomorefattypatty replied to BabyFat23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My mom is the only one who really hates the idea and that's only because she has heard and seen a lot of people gain the weight back or have died from the surgery. I told her to go on this website and at least listen to to all the positive mentions not just listen to the negative. She's deathly afraid something will happen and doesn't feel I have the right to put her through this. She'll see how much happier I am when it's done and I will maintain my healthy weight because i am only doing this once. Sent from my N9519 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Just the beginning
nomorefattypatty replied to BabyFat23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never tried the meal options because I could never afford that but I even lost almost 50 lbs and gained it all back. I've been able to maintain my 34 lb. weight loss only because of what I've learned thru the nutrition classes. I'm just tired of this I can't even look in a mirror without being disgusted by my reflection, that's when I decided surgery was right for me. I am completely sad when I look in any reflection of myself and my mom doesn't understand how bad my self esteem issues are because I don't tell her or anyone. I have finally had to tell her that I hate myself because of this, I've had people on fb even call me a fat disgusting c word on more than one occasion and I just can't take it any more. I'm already bipolar and fighting depression is hard enough every day and adding name calling to that makes it very hard to keep my head up. I'm not really upset about people's opinions of me but it does hurt because I've never been fat before and knowing what I know now I will never make jokes about fat people ever again. Maybe being overweight has made me a better person, but I've learned my lesson and it's time to move on to a thinner me. I don't think people put enough of their feelings on this forum maybe out of fear but my long answers are just things I think people fear but don't want to talk about. I believe this forum could mean so much more if everyone could read what others reasons are for having this surgery. It's not just about the surgery and it goes way deeper than that. Medically induced stress test?
nomorefattypatty replied to Kris10n's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 55 years old and the only tests I had was blood work, an endoscopy in my stomach and an ekg, you don't mention your age but if you are out of breath on a stress test it's best to make sure you can handle the stress you are about to put your body through. nomorefattypatty replied to BabyFat23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Six months seems like such a long time but with all the nutrition lessons you go through it takes that much time to learn everything, before I knew it my last appointment came pretty quickly and I thought six months was never going to happen. I stuck with the program and now have my surgery date of June 21st, my pre-op is on June 8th and now it seems like forever til I get my surgery done. So now I've said goodbye to alot of foods, added protein to even my yogurt, amongst other things and I am now enjoying being fat for the last month I will ever have to ever again, so I'm not stressing that my stomach shows through my shirt because I know it's not gonna be long. I took the past six months trying to say goodbye to bad food habits, and learning how to add better ones. I'm still having trouble with soda, and I still hate water but I'm getting it together and not stressing because six months is over and I only have one month left and I will read bariatric pal forever, sometimes it's a great help and sometimes people ignore you on here which is very rude. Just know that six months goes by so quickly, I was 238 pounds for about ten years and I'm down to 207, but I fluctuate all the time and decided to get some real help. Everyone in my family is against it and won't even go to the surgery with me, thank god for good girlfriend besties, I'm 55 and I am ready I don't care how much pain or the fact that I can never eat as much as I used to I just want my body back, good luck on your journeys I will keep you posted.
