  3. Does anyone have a long list of to dos before surgery? I do. I'm interested in hearing about everyone's. So far I have a small list. I want to get an idea of everyone else's to see if I'm forgetting stuff. I mean I want to hear everything. For me I have: Deep clean bathroom Vacuum Clean out kitchen non bariatric foods Do all dishes Get car professionally cleaned for trip Get oil changed Clean litter boxes Clean pet bowls Sweep/mop Walk through with pet sitter Put fresh sheets on bed Take out trash This is a small list and I feel there is more. Let's help everyone out so that we're all prepared when it comes time!!

    May Sleevers?

See. I think I need to do the same. Because I know it's best for me. It's just I'm second guessing being able to get through it.

    May Sleevers?

Is anyone starting to get nervous?? And second guess their decision. I've been so excited and determined to do this, and just today I'm getting super nervous wondering if I'm doing the right thing :/

    PatchMD

Yeah i bought it from the main site!

    PatchMD

I did! I still have a bright red outline of where the patch was on my skin. I didn't have this problem with the iron or multi so idk what's up with it. I'm disappointed. I wanted it to work.

    PatchMD

I'm sooooo disappointed with patches right now. I think I may have had a reaction to the b12 patch (yes just the b12 patch...the multi and iron didn't do the same thing) when I went to speak to them about the problem to see if it was normal, I was hung up on before I could even finish.

    Anyone from Texas?

Holy moly! That's awesome!!! When did you start the liquid diet again??

    Anyone from Texas?

SO GOOD TO HEAR!!! I was praying that was the case. On the catheter thing and you feeling better! That's good. Especially since it's been only a couple of days.
  13. Girl we've all been there! What matters is that you've gotten over it! No crab cakes! Proud of you :,)
  14. I'm not saying that liquid diets do better. Im fully aware of how diet effects the liver. I'm saying following your doctors instructions should come before everything else. A liquid diet is the ultimate test of readiness for the weeks to come. It is low carb/sugar and is a taste of the diet to come. What happens if she decides she wants a crab cake one week post op? She eats it, it causes a leak and now she has a much bigger problem. Bottom line is, stick to what the doctor ask of you, to make the whole thing easier. Just because it worked for you don't mean it'll necessarily work for her.
  15. If it's not apart of your preop diet, yes it is wrong. To be blunt, if you can't follow this diet, you shouldn't be having the surgery. The preop diet is the beginning of a life long commitment to eating healthy and practicing self control. Slipping up on the preop shows your surgeon that you're not ready to make this change and ultimately results in a cancellation of your surgery. You didn't work this hard to get to this point to ruin it over crab cakes and potatoes. Don't substitute anything. If crab cakes aren't on the diet. Don't eat them. Simple as that. Remember, you're only cheating yourself.
  16. What is your Kik name as well?
  17. I'm looking for a online support group. Doesn't have to surgery specific or stage specific. I just want to get to know other people who are/will be in the same boat as me. I have my last pro op test tomorrow. If all goes well, I'd like to have someone to talk to about the surgery and all that comes with it! I'd love to have a large group! Let me know if you'd join! This would be really nice to have a WLS support system at our finger tips whenever we need it. I'm thinking we could use Kik to achieve this, so reply with your username if interested!
  18. What is your Kik name?? I'll add!

Suprise, suprise. Another question. I hear people saying their doctors users catheters.... does Dr.stowers???? What about a drain? Is there a drain in place?

Awh. I'm glad to hear you're doing well! I love all of the accommodations his office makes. I'm so happy I went with him. After my consult with him, I knew he was the one! So did you not get a surgery time at your pre-op consult? They just have you waiting there? And when you did your edg, what was that like? Also, did you have to take time off for FMLA? how much was the fee? I was literally just made aware that they charge a FMLA fee. What it even for? Sorry for all of the questions! It's nice to have someone to ask that actually went through the same office!
