Revision with bmi 33? Anyone had it?
Blater replied to jnewbie's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
You have to consider if the risk of a revision is worth it. Revisions are far more riskier due to the scar tissue formed by the band and adhesions from previous surgery. Also as a revision your at a higher risk for severe acid reflux. -
Hoping the best for you, revisionsare far far more risky. I was a revision as well and its not beena tough road as yours, but the future may not bode so well

I think you posted on the wrong post..

This sounds awful. Please keep us posted on what the diagnosis is!

OP don't be shamed for asking this question. I have had ice-cream since my surgery. My one and only dumping episode was on sugar free ice cream. Be careful not to slide back into bad habits. It's an incredibly difficult road ahead. Good luck on your journey and keep asking

Only 4 pounds lost since surgery on 1/30
Blater replied to mariasja's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I sm so sorry, I can't imagine how devastating it must be...I hope you begin to lose weight slowly and in a healthy way. -
Those are great points Heather. With how different the post op instructions from surgeons on vitamins, for instance I was told I didn't need calcium after three months and no b12! Thank god, I did tons of research. I wouldn't be surprised if forums 10 or 15 years have posts from lots of people complaining of complications due vitamins deficiency.

It's a difficult decision. Think a million times. I developed GERD due the sleeve. It makes things difficult and sad.
-
Yes, I think that's what I was thinking of, I am seeing many young people on this forum getting sleeved. With other WLS fading from popularitysuch as the band. Was wondering the long term implications. By the way, I understand the sleeve was around since 1999. But has recently become popular.

I can't imagine how your labs are normal with this diet. Do you vomit if you eat meat? What about fruits and cooked vegetables? You need to see your surgeon or a new doctor immediately. This is not normal and your lack of energy is sign of malnutrition. To me it sounds like you have a stricture which can be treated

Or an ulcer due to the drinking. As the others said, you need to see a doctor immediately.

Develop GERD cause of the sleeve. It's a gamble.

Feeling Your Sleeve 7 Years Later

This is so interesting. Something I will have to keep an eye on. Do you think it's some sort of hernia? -
That must be scary. What are you taking for the acid reflux?

Converting from sleeve to bypass or plication
Blater replied to gomezk2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Interesting, I have seen tons of people converting into bypass to resolve GERD that's not manageable by medications. I never heard of picliation though....I don't understand how it can resolve your GERD? -
That seems like alot in one surgery. ...also your stomach is mishaped after the band, that's why they generally have it in two steps. GL

6 weeks - told to go back on fluid
Blater replied to Cazzam8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Going back on liquids is a good idea. However you need some sort of a time frame and next steps if you still can't eat solid food. -

Blater replied to SleevePain2014's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can't begin to imagine the pain you're going through, you're a very strong person. I hope someone else chimes in with a similar experience. I pray that this next procedure works! -
I second the above drink, drink, drink. How are your blood works?
-
It's painful. I am a worried about my future health, and it's all just dark now. Four months of misery.

Crippling depression, so far that's the worst.
