April 2017 sleevers how's it going?

I was sleeved 4/19. I'm feeling great and have lost 42 lbs. I'm in another stall- first was at 3 weeks. Now I've been at the same weight for 10 days. I wish I could just throw the scale away, but I'm addicted to getting on it! [emoji6] I can see a difference in my face and chest, but thighs and waist are holding tight to the pounds! I did start back to Zumba last week, so hopefully that will help!

    a little help & advice :/

I would keep taking the miralax. It took about 3 days of taking it- full dose- before it kicked in for me.

    Post op care

This is the same as mine
  5. I had 7 days pre up liquid diet and I lost 11 lbs. for me, the broth wasn't working so I just made "broth" using a packet of seasoning from Ramen noodles and 2 cups water. Lots of flavors this way and it hit the spot.

    Woo! 299!!

So happy for you! I know how amazing it feels to get rid of that 3 in your weight for the last time ever!
  7. I'm 1 week post-op and struggling with fluids. Is the 64 oz just water? Or do protein shakes and other liquids (tea, diluted juice, soup) get to be included in this number?
  8. Thank you for cheering us on. I had surgery 4/19, and I'm struggling so much right now. It really helps to hear from people who have been through the hard times and don't have regrets. Yesterday I was able to get in all my fluids but today I'm only halfway there. Does it go up and down like that? I thought it would be easier today but it definitely is not
  9. Hey guys -I had surgery on 4/19, and am doing pretty good - not much pain. I do have swollen, red, aching arms and a slight fever. I called the surgeon and he didn't seem concerned. Just told me to take Tylenol and ice & elevate the arms but it's not helping. Anyone else have this?

    After surgery

Thanks for all the responses and comforting comments. I'm really struggling too (surgery was 4/19) and it helps to know that I should be feeling pretty good by next week
  11. Ok thank you. I really thought I'd do a little better post surgery than I am. I usually have a high pain tolerance, but I'm struggling today. Thank you for your response
  12. I can't sleep because I'm so excited, and now starting to get a bit nervous. My main fear is the IV since it will be about 12 hours since I was last able to have any fluids. I know it's much easier to get IVs in when you're hydrated. Also nervous about pain and nausea when I wake up. As long as I keep my mind off of these things, I'm so excited about finally getting this done! Does it hurt when you first start walking after surgery? My surgery is today at 12:30pm. Yeah!!!
  13. Just wondering if there were any sleevers near me? I just got my surgery date of 4/19 and am looking for buddies to help calm the nerves and to share ideas and questions.

    Pre-Op Clearances

My dr told me they test stool for H Pylori bacteria, as this is sometimes present in the stomach. If you're positive for it, you have to go on antibiotics and it delays surgery 2 weeks.

    What to expect after surgery

Thanks for letting us know how you're doing. I'd love to hear more about your experience when you feel up to typing. Congrats!
  17. Thanks so much for posting this. I have my egd tomorrow and I have been so worried. Glad to hear it's a petty easy procedure. My surgery is the 19th too. Good luck to you
  18. Thanks for all the tips and ideas! Never would have thought of the heating pad or the small pillow.

    Pre-op diet. Need a buddie

I'm scheduled for 4/19 also and today is my first day of liquids. I appreciate any ideas for what I can have besides the broth, sugar free jello and popsicles. I'm meeting with the dietician in a few hours and will have to ask her about Greek yogurt and steamed veggies. Good luck everyone!!
