Do you really have hair loss after surgery and if so, how long after surgery did you notice hair loss? Any awesome Biotin supplements you recommend? I have extremely long hair and that's my pride and joy, I'm 3 weeks post op and really need to start taking something ASAP!

As far as I know most do lose hair. Mine started at around 5 months and then started slowing done around 9 months. I had been using Nioxin Shampoo before my RNY, it didn't seem to make much of a difference. I did cut my hair short and started taking HAIR SKIN AND NAILS which has really made a difference!! I have my nails done every 2 weeks because they grow so fast. I also stopped washing my hair everyday. I wash it every other day now. I also have tried differnt shampoos. It is called PUR d ORA it helped some. Then I have a new shampoo that is for hair loss and I like it much better. It makes my hair look fuller. It also has a fresh smell. The PUR d ORA doesn't have a smell hardly at all. So if you sweat it makes your hair stinky. One thing for sure is to get all of your Protein in and drink lots of water too. Some believe that it is caused by the anesthesia that causes hair loss. Now I have had very thin hair before and I was truly afraid that I was going to be bald. It is pretty disheartening to be worrying about so much other stuff that is going on and then to start losing my hair!! Good Luck
