I go in for my sleeve on the 16th I started out on this journey back in March while I had to do a 6 mo of supervised diet it just all seem like it was so far away having to jump thru all the hoops but when I finished it all it I still didn't feel like it was happening it wasn't until I got a call from my surgeon saying he wanted to talk but this was not a pre-surgery visit that he wanted to make sure that this is what I wanted to do. I told him I've come this far to turn back now that the risk out weight doing nothing or the risk of relapses would leave me in worst shape and older considering I just turn 35 last month a wife and 3 kids . This is all gonna seem crazy as I still wonder if this is the right thing to do but at the end of the day look at how this will benefit your life
-
So I just got the call this is all really happening got my insurance approval ( Only took 3 days) and this afternoon is my Pre-Surgical visit so looks like come Oct. 16 will be my surgery date

Thanks, I'm taking 3 weeks but hoping I'm feeling at least 70% after 2 weeks. Looking here most took between 4-6 weeks but I have heard of some people going back in a week Im not sure what they do but I'm like how is that possible.
-
Oh wow you guy are really knocking this out post op and here I was worried I had fought my surgeon on doing the sleeve over they bypass. I start the liquid Diet next Monday while my surgeon only requires a week I figure I do 2 to just train for what's coming afterward. Honestly it all feels like a whirlwind between prepping for taking off work, having the talk with my kids, thinking about what i'm going to tell everyone afterward. Right now only a told a hand full of people in my life Im not really ready to let everyone know that I'm going thru with this often time I get the whole your 6'6 you dont look that big or Classic you must play football line. How hard is it to put muscles back after such a rapid weight lost ?

Id have to agree with u on that Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app

That's one of the things I worry about considering that I've been a big guy for so long getting use to a new body would be hardest part I was telling my wife that the mental aspect is going to be the hardest for me

This is very encouraging as I'm just at the point were I'm ready to do this HB you and Brian have some outstanding stats. Especially with the time you have both had. Considering today Is the 35th Birthday and I 3 weeks away from surgery I have to say I'm determinate more so now than ever after going thru a 6 mo program and jumping thru all the hoops.
-
Yea, I think the sleeve is the better option for me but my Surgeon is pushing the Bypass. Next week is my Pre-Op meeting so hopefully by than we can get on the same page.
-
HI All I'm bout a month away and Im still trying to figure out if I want the sleeve or Gastric Bypass looking at this forum I see that the sleeve guys have some huge losses What made you go with the Sleeve ?
