TripletDad started following "LAST SUPPER", Pre-Op Exercise, OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE and and 7 others

Yes to core strengthening; plus arm/shoulders exercises. Both will aid with post op recovery and being able to position yourself in bed after surgery. Then add cardio to aid with endurance so you don't weaken when asked to walk after surgery. I worked hard in these areas a month before surgery and thanked myself each time I wanted to move or needed to get up from the bed afterward.

OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE

I feel fantastic! Surgery was on October 30th and have lost nearly 50-lbs with that giving me a total of 90-lbs from my highest. -

Post-op Progression! Share your journey!
TripletDad replied to Rose400491's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Started my journey back in April of this year. I had to do 6 months for insurance and just by following their plan (plus the pre-op diet); I lost almost 40 lbs. Surgery date: 10/30/17 Age: 44 HW: 380 back in March/April SW: 343 CW: 305 Goal: 225-235 Never, in my wildest dreams, could I ever image the surgery would work this well. Granted, in no way am I disappointed, but thought I'd experience slower loss. However it seems I can average 3-5lbs per week. My next small goal is to see my weight go below 300 lbs! -

TripletDad replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I confess I weigh daily even though I know I shouldn't. I confess I "modified" the puréed stage to include more real food. HOWEVER I still lost weight and never had any issues with the foods I ate. I confess that I'm elated when people say I look good, but hate it when they over do it. It's becomes awkward and uncomfortable. I confess I'm thoroughly shocked at the progress I've made. Granted I knew weight loss should be quick, but never expected it this quick. I've lost 70 lbs overall, but 37 lbs since Oct 30th surgery day. I confess I worry about if/when I reach my goal, and how well I'm able to maintain the weight. I feel a lot more confident with having the surgery but it's sooooo easy to fall back into poor choices/habits. -
I wish I knew myself. I’ve been holding at 319-320 for the past week and a half. However no immediate change in the diet and getting to the gym 4 days a week, 30-45 minutes of cardio each time. However I can’t lose an ounce. I’m hoping someone will have some good pointers for us.

Able to drink like before surgery
TripletDad replied to TripletDad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you. That's exactly my concern. I was very diligent with sipping when I got home from the hospital, but noticed that even when I lapsed and took a bigger drink, I didn't feel any resistance as you stated. Thankfully getting in my fluids and protein haven't been an issue but felt like there was something different going on versus other sleevers. -
Able to drink like before surgery
TripletDad posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm somewhat concerned at the fact I'm able to drink water at a very normal, pre-op pace. I see so many having issue getting the proper amount of fluids in, whereas I can blow through 96+ oz of water in a day, plus protein shakes, broth, and Popsicles. I was sleeved on October 30th, so I'm a little over a week of recovery. I truly thought I'd have more of a resistance to fluid intake; which worries me about actual food intake and how much I'll be able to consume. -

Just had mine done on Monday and was up and walking about 2 hours after surgery. Basically no pain and was able to walk laps around the nurses' station. They said no one does multiple laps their first trip out but I did 3. A lot is in the prep. Meaning; get yourself to a gym and walk on a treadmill or ride a bike. Get a good strong core/legs and follow pre-op diet to the letter.

Bing Eating Before My Surgery October 30th!
TripletDad replied to LuckyCharm88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My date is Oct 30th as well. I too have been sneaking more bad foods (since being given my date), but I haven't stopped exercising, nor have I stopped trying to watch out for certain foods during the day. I start the pre-op on the 16th so I think part of it is trying to get that last "hurrah" in before I start prepping. -

Did anyone exercise during pre-op diet?

Thank you! I will definitely follow a similar plan. Appreciate your input! -
Did anyone exercise during pre-op diet?
TripletDad posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It may be a silly question, but I'm currently doing 30-40 mins of cardio and some core work. I'm doing this about 4 days a week, but on the 16th of October I begin the pre-op diet. My fear is trying to get the last bit of exercise in those two weeks but pushing my hunger levels through the roof. If you did exercise, what are some pointers? -
Calling all October sleevers!!
TripletDad replied to Detroit_25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Set for October 30th. Start pre-op on the 16th. -
I'm calling my week prior to starting the pre-op diet as my "food farewell tour". Basically getting in some of my favorites, but only to an extent. I don't want to completely sabotage what I've worked at to lose since beginning this journey. It culminates this Saturday (14th) with one of my favorite restaurants along with friends and family.
