sc09 replied to The New Kel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
🤤 that looks so yummy. Can't wait to be able to eat those things. -
Food textures get me now. I'm on soft foods. Took me a little bit to get use to the texture of tuna.

Gastric sleeve time off work
sc09 replied to kmmschaefer's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I have a sedentary job too. I sit behind a desk most of the day and still took 2 weeks. And when I went back I wish I had taken the 3 week. I was ok in the mornings but around noon I'd hit a wall and would be useless. Plus struggling to eat and drink was time consuming. -
I set alarms on my phone to remind myself to eat. After I eat I set the timer for 30 minutes and after it goes off I start drinking water again. I still can't get the 64oz I'm suppose to but I got up to 50oz today.

The day I hit my 6 week mark. I ate 1/4 cup.

Gastric sleeve time off work
sc09 replied to kmmschaefer's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I took off two weeks and 2 days. Had surgery on a Thursday April 13 and went back to work May 2nd. (My office was closed the day I was suppose to have gone back due to Tornados and no power.). -
Artic Zone ice cream. Low calorie, no fat and has protein.

Thursday is 6 weeks post op and I have my follow up the next week with my surgeon. So my question for everyone is.... what was the first thing you ate after you were off the soft food phase???
-
I'd be scared. Lol

What were you doing post-op?

I could barely get up out of a chair with out help. I didn't exercise until I was 3 almost 4 weeks. I did walk around the house and the yard but I wasn't one of those ones that walked 5 miles 2 days later. I could barely make I through the store and actually didn't on one trip. I pushed clothes to a corner of a display table and sat down on it and dared someone to say something to me. Lol. Start slow. It's better to start slow then go all out and set your recovery back. -
I went to their Facebook page and sent a message and they replied back. If you email info@drinkprotein2o.com and send them your address they will send you some.

I've made egg salad with mayo and I've made egg salad with mashed up avocado. Those to me were easier to eat then the scrambled eggs with cheese.

I carry the tuna pouches with me when I'm going to be out and away from a fridge. -
I like the Dannon Light & Fit. It's 80 calories and 12g protein.

I just talked to my nutritionist today and she said that is normal. I have fluctuated within the same pound for 2 weeks and today I'm 5 weeks PO. -

Your right sometimes talking to someone who understands helps. If you need to talk send me a message. I reply back fast. [emoji4] -

sc09 replied to Gulleba's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 4 weeks and 4 days today PO. I'm back at work since May 2nd. The first week was rough. I'd be exhausted by 1pm. I have some days that are better than others. Some days I have tons of energy and some it takes all I have to get up and go to the bathroom. I think everyone's different. I would read on here while I was off work people walking 2 and 3 miles after their first week. I though wow and I'm lucky to make it to the fridge for a protein shake or the bathroom. Take it at your own pace and don't read too much into what one person can do that your not able. It's a major surgery that your body is adjusting too. -
Weakness and nausea

I almost feel out in Khols when I was 2 weeks post op. Same symptoms you said. I just made sure I drank more water and got the protein in after that. Went to Walmart Friday morning and managed to get through the store with out feeling that way. I'm 4 weeks post op now. -

Thinking I ate something I shouldn't have.

I ate an ounce of roast beef that was soft and moist. However now my stomach kinda hurts and I get sharp stabby pains. I wonder if it's gas pains or something wrong. Oh and I'm 4 weeks and 3 days post op. -

Trust me! I won't be. I intend on going back to soups and scrambled eggs. This has spooked me! -

I handled a scrambled egg well as well as tuna and chicken salad. I've has refried beans and did good with that too. I think I'm going back to soups for a while.
