Looking for Bandsters in NW Houston
LongRoad replied to babyblue71us's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm in Copperfield so Katy isn't too far, neither is 290 at Jones. I have been out of touch for a while but I have stayed with the program on my band. On my birthday this week I hit my 100 lb. mark. It was a very :biggrin2: exiting day for me. I still have 118 lbs to lose but I feel like I will actually get there. I have a 10cc band and am finally feeling restriction. My last fill took me to 5.8cc. My clothes are all too big, even my shoes! WOW.. I never thought I would be in the 200's again and now at 258 I think I will be in the 100's by February. I hope everyone is having a good summer. It sure is nice to be able to be more active!:tongue_smilie: I might even be ready to join a gym!!!! A support group out our way sounds good. With gas what it is and work schedules, I can't get down to the True Results group every month. Let me know where and when. Judi -

255 lbs to lose. Can it be done?
LongRoad replied to hopefulmom25's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Hopeful Mom! I don't know what the odds are of losing that much but I personally am going to do it. I began the whole process on Jan 5th this year and was banded on Jan 25th. At my first visit I was 358 lbs. and at surgery date was at 328. So right there with the pre surgery diet I lost 30 lbs. One month out of surgery I was at 312 and when I went for a fill this past Wednesday I was at 298 lbs !!! So thats 30 more pounds. So pound by pound I am doing this. The band is working well but understand it is not what makes me lose weight. I am what makes me lose weight. The band only helps (insists) me stay with the diet. This has always been my fialure...staying with it for more than a few weeks. My plan is that by my birthday in August I will have lost the 1st hundred pounds. At 2 pouns a week thats totally do-able I will love to hear about your Journey. I hope mine is encouraging to you. Judith on the long road to better. -
6 weeks post-op and still in pain?
LongRoad replied to loosinit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
See you doctor ASAP. The incisions hurt a bit as they heal but not PAIN. 1 week out you should have been feeling ok.. tired and sore but not bad. why did you wait 6 weeks to see the Dr? Do you live somewhere far from your surgery center? They can't fix you if they don't know you're broke. Get help quick. Judi on the Long Road to health. -
What kind of excerise is everyone doing?
LongRoad replied to karri68's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Try Bowling! I went yesterday and it was fun. I'm 2 months out and doing great. when were you banded? Judi -
Lily, I got that pain too in the first 2 wks. Gasex is your friend. Get the cherry chewables and chew them down to nothing with some water. As with all gas, this too will pass. Congratson getting the surgery. I have been reading the posts here in the +200 group and it sounds like a fun, supportive place to be. Best of luck to all of you. I was banded at 358lbs on 1/25/08 in Houston, TX. I'm feeling great and am now at 303. Judi on the Long Road

Banded 3 Days ago.....Was it the right thing to do???
LongRoad replied to xray1028's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had those "what was I thingking" moments also in the first 2 weeks. Now I'm abiut 2 months out and am setteling into a routine that is so much healthier. Keep hydrated and you'll be great. Cut yourself a break, you just had a big surgery...you're supposed to be tired and that makes you discouraged. Every day gets better. -
I was banded on Jan 25th also, and have 200 lbs to lose. I am not thinking of that though. I am concentrating on the next 2 lbs. Good luck to us both.
