Does anyone have regrets?
koswalt4 replied to Kelliegurl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my band surgery a little over 8 months ago and I LOVE IT!!!!! The one and only regret I have is that I did not do it sooner. I wish I would have done this a long time ago. I have lost a total of 71 lbs and feeling wonderful. So Good Luck and best wishes on your decision. -
I had my band surgery in May and at the time I had Aetna. They finally approved me after being turned downthe first time. I had to do a 6 month waiting period of dr visits every month to be weighed and had to have all of the test and other dr visits met. Once I finished all of that it was clear sailing. Good luck and hope everything goes well. My surgery was May 15, 2008 and as of today I have lost 54 lbs.

How can you tell?
koswalt4 replied to MADE IT 2 MY GOAL..OH YEAH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last time I went in for a adjustment my dr told me that I had stretched my pouch a little bit. All he said I had to do was to stop overeating. That is what stretched my pouch, so no I didn't have to have another surgery. Have u had any adjustments yet? I hope this helps. Kay -
Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. You will do just fine. I have had my band for a little over 4 months now and have lost 51 lbs. I wish I would have done it a long time ago. What part of Alabama are u from? I am from Alabama also. Good Luck and let us know how u do with your surgery. Kay:thumbup:

rheumatoid/degnerative arthritis sufferers... did lap band help your pain?
koswalt4 replied to Leighann's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have degenerative arhtritis also. I had my surgery on May 15th this year and have lost 46 lbs so far. It has already started to help some, however, if I stand for a long period of time or do a lot of walking I am still in pain. My arthritis is mainly in my knees but it is spreading all over my body. My dr told me that it would not cure the arthritis but it would definately help by getting the weight off. So I would say yes that the surgery was worth it cause I can already tell a difference. Getting the weight off definately is better for the pain of the arthritis . I hope this helps you with your decision in making the choice of having surgery. Thanks, Kay Oswalt -
Hi I am from Mobile and was banded on May 15th by Dr Chris Dyas. I have lost 41 lbs to date and am having my 2nd adjustment this Thursday.

Hi, I used Dr Chris Dyas in Mobile and he was great. He is very professional and straight to the point. I had my surgery in May and had my first fill the 9th of July. Welcome to Mobile and hope everything goes well with you.

I was banded on 5-15-08 by Dr Chris Dyas in Mobile. As of today I have lost 38 lbs. I have had one adjustment and I think it is time for another one. It is starting to take more to satisfy me so I know I need a fill. I am getting to the point where I need some new ideas on food and what and how much people are eating. I think I may not be eating enough calories. I am drinking anywhere from 70-80 ounces of water a day. Any advise will be great. Good luck to everyone being banded and congratulations to the ones already banded and doing well.

I was banded on May 15th and I drink 1 cup of coffee every morning. I have done this since the day I came home from the hospital. And I have had no problems. I hope you too can continue to enjoy your coffee. As of today I have lost 39 lbs.

I use to also drink a lot with my meals...it was nothing for me to drink 2 to 3 glasses of something with each meal......but i drank my last carbonated drink 2 nights before my surgery and have not had one since....i didnt think i could handle not drinking with my meals but i promise u it has not bothered me one bit....i eat my meal then wait till time for me to have something and then drink a bottle of water...i dont drink with my meals and still consume 70-80 ounces a day.....good luck and i know u can do it.......kay
