My advice is get creative. I looked at the list if possibilities and then bought unflavored Unjury. My go to that I still live is chocolate pudding. Made it with a premixed premier protein shake(30 g. of protein in 11 oz) and added fair life milk to get it up two two cups of liquid called for on box. Then added two scoops of unflavored injury as well with the pudding mix. I got 5 servings (4 oz) they were 100 calories and 15 grams if protein.(according to the myfitnesspal app) I would change up the flavor of shake(carmel or banana is really good too) Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app -

So based on the fact you have a smell...I'm thinking you may have a yeast issue. I would try q-tips soaked in vinegar. (Dilute some white vinegar if skin is too irritated to handle it straight) then use a blow dryer on a cold to warm setting to dry the the area. The vinegar did wonders for me pre-op. Im a teacher who has a full schedule u til end of day...i also like to sleep as long as possible in the morning. I start my morning taking my multi vitamin and omeprazole with applesauce. Hit the shower and get dressed to let those have 30 minutes to sit in my stomach. I drink my protein shake with 30 g. of protein on the way to work...give that 30 minutes then start drinking my water hitting it hard til my 30 minutes before lunch. I always change up lunch . Cottage cheese, jello or pudding made with unfloavered protein powder, greek yogurt or a cream soup with added protein powder. I also take my first dose of calcium at lunch.. around 4 I have a snack...normally one of my unused choices from lunch and another round of calcium...then I have supper around 7 which may be a shake depending on my other choices made that day. The the last of my calcuim is also taken. I would then decide if I needed a before bed snack... I drank water non stop between meals as allowed. But I stopped drinking at 9 in the evening so I could go all night without having to get up to go to the bathroom. My favorite thing was to make pudding with premade shakes and two scoops of unflavored protein powder. I could get 5 (4oz) savings out of a regular box of pudding...they had 100 calories and 15 g. of protein and I could change up flavor combinations by changing pudding or flavor of shake I used. I will say I'm glad I took my pre op. visits seriously. I've had absolutely no problems post op. My team of docs insists it's because I followed instructions to the letter before and after my roux-en-y. The hospital nurses even chuckled at me cause I packed my own shot glass to take sips of water out of in hospital...they had medicine cups for me....said most people don't really practice sipping before surgery. I still shake my head when I think about those in my group who continually reported they hadn't started that yet...when asked the Myriad of questions each month. Each of them had numerous complications of various degress...I felt bad for them but knew they had not truly taken the pe-op. lessons to heart . That said it's never to late to start getting ready. You can do a lot in a month. I believe I heard most habits take a month to break so I would think a month of practice is better than no practice at all. It's tough to make these lifestyle changes. I just played with it...when you are in the diary and click to add food one of the tabs at the top is recipes. Click that and it pretty much walks you through...you give it a name and I always guess at servings to start...then you add ingredients as I cook...I save it, then I dish up what I made to find just how many servings I got out of that batch. I go back and edit the recipe so I get the best numbers possible...i started putting date I made recipe in the name then I label my servings...i purchased 4 oz canning jars instead of new plates and plastic containers...i can freeze, refrigerate, heat and eat all out of the same container. I even did recipe for when I made pudding with my protein powder so it would be accurate. Each time I change the recipe I just edit. For example I started my "protein pudding" using a premixed protein shake for the 2c of milk and also added 2 scoops of my dry protein powder to really boost the protein while on the full liquid diet. I use a scale to weigh things. Measuring cups help too. But the thing I like to use the most is MyFitnessPal app. It's great for pre-packaged Foods, your own recipes, even restaurants. I want to make sure that I'm getting all my nutrients. FitnessPal tracks not only my calories but my protein, iron, calcium, water intake and my exersice all the good stuff in one place on my phone. Has a wonderful way of showing you your weakness too...like when you eat that high carb item and look back at the list of high carbs for day. There at the top will be your mistake or accountability however you look at it. But like everything else if you don't use the tool religiously or if you fudge your intake you will not have an accurate picture. In the long run its about staying honest with yourself and always making the best choices you can. Like everything else logging the information becomes habit. It's quick and easy with the app.

I'm 10 days post op. My NUT. told me to start with baby oatmeal and mix it really thin. Next week I can have the "real thing" if I put it in the blender and again make it pretty thin. The goal is to work up to the unblended with some protein powder each morning.

I'm 10 days post-op today. I had nothing but Tylenol in the hospital and nothing since I was home. no nausea, have not gotten sick once. But I was not out of the country, didn't have to travel more than an hour to get home. I will also tell you that there were 5 other patients that had surgery the same day I did with the same doctor, they all had some issue some small some big. You will not know until you are done how you will be. You're adding the fact that you will be out of the country. I think I would want someone with me. -

So I think everybody is different. Personally, I told everyone in my life. But I'm not one to hide things. I'm a teacher and having surgery in the middle of the school year meant I was going to have lots of people covering for me. I felt they deserved to know. I've also had to be on a program for 6 months and lose weight every month to even qualify for my insurance. So those around me had started to notice the changes I was making. It made sense to me to be open and honest with them. Making it easier and a lot less stressful in the long run. For instance, our crew at school has food Fridays. Once they knew they were jumping over themselves to find ways to provide choices for me before and when I return. Instead of me having to make excuses why I can eat or I chose not to eat things that I would have normally eaten. Everyone now knows. My family was told early because I went through Thanksgiving, and Christmas trying to make weight for insurance. Now that I'll only be 3 weeks post op for Easter, it will be an easier time for me as well. Like my co-workers, my family is making sure there are things I can eat and be included in without me really having to say much more. Now that being said, most of my family was against my choice and I had to work hard to educate them and not let them sway my decision. I'm a very open person who is not swayed by others or really sensitive to what others think of me. I do things my way and don't worry about what others think.
