brandnewred got a reaction from Deactivatedfatgal in If any of you could have had the sleeve done in your 20's would you?
i just turned 21 on tuesday and had my procedure on thursday. it is worth it, i know all this minor pain i'm going through will make the rest of my 20s healthy and happy. ive been big my entire life and this option seemed best for me, i would do this all over again in a heartbeat. good luck to you!

brandnewred got a reaction from LaurieH01 in a little help & advice :/
so i had my surgery on the 18th, everything went well, no complications, got discharged the next day. told me that if i dont go to the bathroom by sunday to take mirolax. so i did half dose last night& the rest this morning. i just wanna know if anyone has any suggestions that will make me go to the bathroom. sorry if its a bit tmi but its scaring me because i am in discomfort from being bloated and it makes me not want my Protein Shakes, and me not having Protein shakes makes me incredibly dizzy and weak, which makes me unable to walk a lot which is what i should be doing to let the gas out. i just wanna know if anyone had this same problem and what would they recommend

Do you have a surgery date yet? I still have some prerequisite appointments before they submit to insurance.

I am having surgery May 22. What's left on your agenda to do before they submit your packet?

I still have nutritionist, surgeon and bariatrician. I am HOPING to get a date at the end of June. My mother pointed out that this is my plan and that might not be the Dr's plan. Hopefully, he will see my wisdom(ha, ha)

I would like to thank you Joann. I am 50 yrs old and have been smoking since I was 15 yrs old. I know that I need to quit. After reading your post about smoking. I immediately went onto Amazon and ordered a hypnosis cd, a tea and a stop smoking inhaler. I had just gone to my first appointment with the Psychiatrist and she told me that I need to stop smoking in order to have the surgery. The timing of this is uncanny and I really appreciate your insight

You should definitely test clean (blood) in ten days. Stay quit!! Don't sneak. Don't be around it.
I am fat, slow metabolism (thyroid issues) and over fifty. Sorry I had thought your test was the 18th but that's your surgery. Still you should be good. If it'll make you feel better drink cranberry juice and exercise but there's not a lot more you can do except abstain.

Don't make yourself crazy reading on the internet. Just stay quit and you will pass on the 18th.
I was a 30 year pack a day smoker and passed a blood test in 5 (closer to 4) days of zero nic. Stay quit because you never know if you'll have what you need to quit again. We have come too far to blow this surgery over smoking.

From reading about it - at least 10 days, but don't even be around anyone else that smokes, ask for Chantix (wellbutrin) to help with cravings. Good luck.

I think you will be ok. Just don't smoke anymore. Which alone is hard I went cold turkey almost a year ago. Just say no. It gets easier!!!
