    5 mls in 1 go?

I only received 2 at a time! Sounds a bit much though, I struggled for the first day after each one, on my last visit, the PA tried giving me 2.5 and I did not pass the swallow test, I am currently at 5.2 in a 11cc band.
  2. I have been on my lap band journey since 2/23/17, (still a newbie) I did not have any idea what to expect but I think I had my expectations were way too high I assumed the weight would melt off, that my cravings would disappear and boy did I learn that was not the case. Until recently, I had the wrong mindset, I was worried about being in the green zone, how many fills I needed to get to it. I now know that being in the green zone is when you are satisfied with smaller portions, you don't get stuck at every meal and slow weight loss. I know that if I chew slow and don't take big bites I wont have PB or sliming incidents. I have learned to not be a mouth washer which this was definitely my biggest problem and mainly that any problems I experienced were self inflicted and completely preventable. If I get stuck it is because I took too big of a bite, I am mindful to put my fork down and wait a minute between bites, I try not to drink while I eat, this was super hard for me... still working on it it but waaaaay better than before. For those of you who would like to know, I am at 6.2 cc's and have a 10mm band. I have lost almost 40 pounds, feels really slow but I am hopeful they are gone forever! I am more comfortable now then before with my new way of eating, for example yesterday was a family bbq, and.... there were burgers- I loved burgers! but I knew the bread was get stuck, I would drink water to push it down then have to run to the bathroom to vomit, I removed the bread, sliced it in 4, took small bites of each slice and did not feel left out... i would never have been able to do this before I would like to ask if you could share your weight loss with us, how you felt when you were in the green zone and how long it took you to have the right mindset, I think it would be helpful to not only myself, but others who are starting their journey.

    What are you eating?

KellyCats, I can not eat bread, of any kind, it gets stuck, I can drink anything, eat chicken, steak and pork. I can have salads as well. I can not eat bananas or grapes. Protein keeps me satisfied the longest, It is a learning process, I am still learning and test my band all the time. I started with walking and have now incorporated swimming, I felt very frustrated my first few months but I kept at it. I hope to loose another 65 pounds to be at my goal weight.

    Newby

I suffered horrible should pain as well, but it did go away. I am happy to answer any questions. I am only 4 1/2 months out and have only lost 40lbs but I am happy, 40lbs feels very heavy if you try and pick it up

    Post Band Fills

I had 3 fills before I actually felt restriction. The first fill was 2cc's, second fill was 2'ccs and the third was 2.2cc's, I have a 10cc band. I am at 6.2cc's now and have started to loose a bit more weight. I was very anxious when I first got banded, I wanted the weight to melt off, now I am patient, I know that it all lays on me, I am the one that needs to eat better and I am trying but still have work to do. Good luck and I know you will find the green zone.

    Second fill

I would also like for the "Guru's" to tell us how we know when we reached our sweet spot, I am still hungry, had my third fill this morning and am currently at 5.2cc's in a 10cc band. The dr told me he has seen a lot of success in those with a 10cc band at 5-6cc's, he said some go to 7cc's before they experience true restriction, hope this one will make a difference, lost 5 lbs, said that was very good, guess it just seems very very slow...
  7. I went in for my 3rd fill today, I have a 10cc band and am currently at 5.2cc. I lost 5 pounds, no idea how this happened- LOL. I am at almost 30 lbs since surgery. I know that everyone is different and what works for some may not work for others, I just want to get to the not feeling hungry point. Hopefully this fill puts me in the green zone, my doc fills under Fluro, said barium went down good and it is a "wait and see kinda thing", he did tell me that the majority of his patients hit their green zone between the 3rd or 4th fill, in cc's it is about 5-6.

Lap band problems as of recent

Oh wow, you are very lucky! Good luck to you.
  9. Hi there, I got my 2nd fill today, I received 2cc's which now has me at 4cc's. I certainly hope I have more restriction because with the first fill practically nothing. I would be curious to know on a 10cc band what was your sweet spot? What amount of fill did you receive in order to get to that sweet spot?

Lap band problems as of recent

I just recently posted to another person, I just experienced band slippage with my daughter, he symptoms were vomiting, and very bad acid reflux. The doctor was able to re-position the band which is what she wanted. She lost 163lbs with her band. I hope it works out for you.
  11. Hi, I only know about the slipped band because it happened to my daughter, we both went in for a fill, she had not been in 1 year and when she drank the barium it just stayed in her chest, it never passed through the band into the stomach, within 6 days she was operated on and luckily they were able to re-position her band, she also had a hiatal hernia. She experienced very very bad acid reflux and lost a ton of weight which is good and bad, the first year she lost 163lbs, but now I wonder if it was because the band slipped. Stay strong, at least your band can be repaired without surgery- and I do remember it was very hard for her to eat after it slipped, it may be related to the hernia.
