Surgery is 5/25 but having some minor second thoughts....Can anyone relate?
bilbisgfy replied to Alimap300's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, & did I mention walk?!? Seriously, walk - that helped me the most! And I was extremely "gurgly" for days!!! Day 4 was much better, day 5 is seemingly even better. Our bodies have been through so MUCH! Just try to relax and allow your body to heal. Wishing us all good luck! -
I am here now, and you will be up and around so much quicker than you think you will!!! I 1000% vouch for Dr Illan's skill as a surgeon! He is amazing, no doubt! Just do it! Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

What's the name of the restaurant that serves the infamous French Onion broth in TJ? Just preparing for our trip and wanted to make sure we cross this off the bucket list! TIA! Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

Out of all of my OCD research on VSG surgery in MX, I went with Dr Illan. My surgery date is on May 25th and I feel confident in my decision about him and his team. As my sister and I are both being sleeved by him! I have contacted several previous patients, googled him (skip to page 3), & read a different bariatric website as well. Everything that I have experienced so far has been nothing short of amazing. Yes, traveling is exhausting, even for work. Surgery sucks, even if it's for a baby. However, the hospital stay is longer with Dr Illan's group (than anything I have read in the US) & two additional days in a hotel, for a total of four days! That's some patient care, if you ask me (I have a master's in healthcare)! Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

My date is May 25th too! I think that it is completely normal to second guess yourself on something so big. As long as you know what to expect post-op and beyond, you should be good. You CAN do this! Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -
Any single mum sleepers out there?
bilbisgfy replied to minnieme80's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
TY! Its more preventative measures than just to be skinny for us. Our maternal grandmother passed away at 45, then our mom had hypertension and weight induced type II diabetes when she passed away at 62. So, we if are literally going to be around for our (future) grandkids and even be able to play with my little ones now - we both have to do something to assist us with being healthy - NOW! May 2017 Sleevers?
bilbisgfy replied to 1stNameMiranda's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Mine is May 25th!!! -
Might be a weird question....
bilbisgfy replied to painish's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Either will mine! It's a total scam, honestly. Because insurance companies would come out on top if their subscribers were healthier, IMHO. Of course there is the initial investment of the actual surgery, but the ROI is huge in comparison, IMHO. Anyway, my date is May 25th with Dr. Illan! When is your date? -
Hi! I am new to the VSG community. I have been thinking about a lap band for 10+ years, but my sister informed me the sleeve procedure about a month ago. So I have decided to actually pursue the single incision sleeve procedure and I need to do my due diligence and ask if anyone that has had the sleeve procedure done, do they have any regrets about it? If so, what are they? Has anyone had the single incision procedure done? Likes/dislikes about it? Like most of you guys, I will have to go to Mexico in order to afford the surgery (completely excluded from my policy from work and I couldn't find another policy on Healthcare.gov that didn't exclude it)! I have basically OCD'ed researched about the sleeve procedure and just wanted to introduce myself and ask a few questions. Everything that I have read so far on this forum has been positive, aside from a few haters (which are everywhere)! I look forward to hearing back from you guys and hearing about your experiences too! Thanks so much! Sally

Thank you! My sister and I are both going to see Dr. Illan on May 25th for our sleeves! We aren't taking much time off work either, as most of the time off will be traveling there & back, plus the four days in BariatricPal's hands. I am so excited and nervous too! We have started to adjust our current eating habits to what post-sleeve life will be like. So far so good too! Which makes me extremely hopeful for our future eating habits. As this is a tool for success, not a solution. As well as a preventative measure for both of us, as our mom had weight-induced diabetes and hypertension. 32 days before we leave!
