I will have to bring it up to a doctor. They did an ultrasound in December and didn't find anything so I'm wondering if my bladder has simply fallen and needs to be repaired

This might be TMI but since surgery every time I am intimate I get so much pain and urgency to pee it isn't ever a bladder infection.
It's driving me to the point of tears because I want to be intimate with my partner but it hurts so much after.
The doctors don't seem to care and I'm losing my mind....

It is really important to keep a journal of what you are actually consuming. That way you can take it to your doc and say.. hey, look! I'm only eating 200 calories a day! Maybe you already are, but if you only have the info you just gave, it's not enough. Measure (weigh) everything, and write down what, how much, what time, how you felt... everything.
You should be pretty comfortable consuming at least 800 calories a day of food. It sounds like you might not be getting that much. This is something you should bring up with your surgeon, because strictures can happen, and it will make you unable to eat or drink enough. The idea of Water hurting for a day and a half.. this sounds all wrong to me. If I take too big a swallow, it'll hurt for a few seconds, or maybe a minute. Not a day!
No the pain passes but then I have another sip and it's uneasy again. It's not constant pain. I see my surgeon next week and will for sure bring that up with him.
I am eating about 750 to 800 calories on good days. Some days a bit less but I try to get at least 750 in.
I'm trying to figure out if it's normal to have your stomach be uppity randomly one day here and there then go back to 'normal'

The biggest thing that surprises me post surgery is my change in personality. I am more aware of how toxic some people in my life are and I am no longer tolerating or enabling their behavior. It was like a night and day switch. I don't know if it's a physical/hormonal change, or an emotional change, but right now I feel like I am fighting for me and have no patience for the poor behavior of others around me.
This is exactly what I am experiencing at this moment in time. I can't stand some of the people I thought I could never live without. I have ended the one relationship that was the most toxic for me and after the first day I felt like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders. And i feel happy now that he is gone. This is a great thing I think. I'm standing up for myself and what I need for the first time in forever.
The other thing I wish I knew was the body image things and how quickly they would present! I am having a great time seeing the weightloss but the excess skin is hard already and I am only 16 weeks out (63 lbs down since surgery and 90 lbs if you include the presurgery loss) I am looking into counsellors now because I am struggling

Okay so I am 16 weeks Post Op and feel like I eat nothing. Everything sits funny except for cheese and shredded chicken. But every 2 weeks or so I go through a few days where anything and everything hurts. Drinking Water (flavored because plain water hurts) even feels like I have swallowed something wrong. It lasts about a day and a half then goes away. Kinda feels like morning sickness in a sense (Not pregnant I have done tests)
I can't drink Protein Drinks. I know I am not getting enough protein... can anyone offer any advise as to what I can do? Or if this uppity tummy is normal and will pass?
-
Hi sorry if this is tmi but this is my second period since I got sleeved and I am feeling super nauseous.
I even threw up yesterday. Is this normal? Called my doctor and waiting to hear back.
I do know my period is super heavy this time as well. Anyone else experience this?

I have been reading about these WLS meet ups for a while. Just wondering if there was a list for them and if there were any in Seattle or even Vancouver Canada that are happening.
Would love to meet others who have gone through this journey!

My surgeon cleared me after 2 weeks. I'm guessing every doc is different though. I had the sleeve , not sure if you had the same.
I had the sleeve as well.abettyc reacted to this -
My surgeon cleared me for swimming yesterday but going to wait a bit more before I do to be on the safe side. Though he says my scars are healing really fast and beautifully
-
Given the ambiguity of this I'd get seen and cleared first before going.
Yes that's the plan I am just curious what most people's experiences were so I might have a time frame.
I see my surgeon Thursday for my follow up. -
Does anyone know when we can go swimming? I love to be in the Water and am missing it pretty bad. Just about 3 weeks since surgery.
-
How's it going? Hope all is ok today?
Everything is doing much better now!kjaustin reacted to this -
I'd agree to contact your surgeon. I'm 9 days out and just today realized I could take a bigger sip than I normally could a few days ago. I think it may have caused you some extra gas but to be on the safe side, especially since your in pain, contact your surgeon.
I've forgotten to take mine antacid as well a few days back. The Doc told me to take it now so I did. Not too much pain for the additional meals.
OK I will call him now.Rowvin reacted to this -
So I had surgery 10 days ago and have been doing pretty good but I forgot to take my antacid prescription for 2 days... I am in a lot of pain now.
I also have made a few big gulps of Water by accident when I wasn't thinking.... could I have made a leak happen?
I am worried!!!
-
I have the same pain, I think it's gas too... kinda throbs a litter??
Yes I think it was gas. I passed an amazing amount last night and feel much better today -
I am 6 days post op. I am trying to eat my liquid diet but have been having some pain right below my breasts today. Worried something might be wrong.
Or could this still be gas. I am sipping tiny amounts so I don't think I am taking in too much
-
Sleeved a week ago. I'm healing well. My incisions are sore but I don't have pain. The gas is still annoying but I never had it as bad as it seems others have. The hardest part has truly been that I can't stand Protein powder. It makes me gag. I also have what feels like hunger at night. Wondering if it's gas or reflux. Im just generally uncomfortable and not sleeping well but im blessed. I've had a good experience thus far. Post op appointment tomorrow. 16 pounds down since 3/28.
I am beginning to feel hungry at night as well too... I am only 6 days post op. I find I sip more Water at night because of it.
I think once I switch to purees and soft solids this will pass
