Ok I'm sure this is normal right but just wanted to ask... I am 11 days post operatively and I am still having trouble getting all my liquids in. I can drink thin liquids no problem but with my protein shakes I have a hard time. The first day I tried to have a protein shake - which was blended - I thought I was going to die! I figured out that the foam from the shake was a NO GO! It took me about 6 hours to drink that after the gas had died down from it. Two nights ago my husband made a red lentil soup for me which was pretty thin...I had about 3 spoonfuls and almost died (well not died, but felt pretty close). I thought I was going to throw up but nothing happened, after about 1 hour the feeling went away... Now a few days later it still is taking me hours to drink my shakes from the blender cup as after a few sips I have a lot of gas inside / belching. Once I get that gas feeling it hurts and if I persist, it spreads into my chest becomes sharp and feels like a heart attack (hence, the I'm going to die feeling) and I have to wait until it passes. Once a few belches come up then the feeling subsides and I can usually proceed but I don't as I don't enjoy the feeling. I don't really feel a restriction per say just this gassy feeling. Anyone else experiencing this??? This too shall pass right???
