Does anyone regret getting their LB?

I don't regret getting my LB, it was the best decision I've made in the past 10 years! I work with 4 other lapbanders and not one regrets it. I did not have a primary care doc and this was a problem for me because my insurance req'd that a primary care doc had to write a note stating he/she approved of it. It took FOUR dr's to get that ONE to agree w/ me. The 1st one said I was making a big mistake because she knew of a failure. The next 2 said I was fine the way I was. Thankfully, I don't give up that easy!! To this day I have yet to meet anyone that it failed!
  2. Hi Laura, Congratulations on your new lapband. I just passed my 1 year anniversary. I'm now 167lbs and wearing regular clothes!!! It felt sooo good to buy size 10 jeans in the Gap. I have NO regrets whatsoever. My confidence is back. The biggest recent surprise is losing a shoe size. I was an 8.5-9, now I'm a 8-8.5. I can't wait for this summer!!! Good luck, you're going to do great!!
  3. I had my band done the same day. I felt the same way. I wondered if I was doing the right thing, too. Anyway, I hope that someone replied to you sooner and that you're doing better. The rash sounds like an allergic reaction. Now that it's 7 days post-op, how are you? Aside from the pain, my brain was still on overdrive and craving everything. It's not easy to turn those thoughts off. I imagined not being hungry immediately post surgery. It took a couple of days to convince my brain - it was frustrating! Take care, Lisa
  4. Hi Cindy, I get eyes rolled at me because my bmi was/is 36! I know how you're feeling. I have high BP, super high cholesterol, reflux, fatty liver, etc. I avoided dr's for years because I was so embarrassed to go. I avoided old friends and numerous social situations. I am excited about the second chance at life I've rec'd. At 5'5" and 215 I had enough! Now- I've been overweight 10 years- so I DO remember what it was like to be thin. I was hungry ALL the time and I know this was going to be my solution. No more excuses for me- that brick wall I built is coming down with my weight. I am 7 days postop and 9lbs less. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. Lisa
