Ordering at restaurants?
sanks51 replied to tigermom12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually order fish off the main menu. Our favourite restaurant has all kinds of fish and the potatoes and veggies are added extras. Works perfectly for me. I find most appetisers or children's menu's are not in line with my attempt at 'clean eating'. I don't feel embarrassed to ask for a doggie bag and take my leftovers home. I usually drink my glass of wine before we order. -
I read an interesting article from a trainer... It was titled PERSPECTIVE. She once had an eating disorder and goes on to say how workouts should not be used as a punishment for the foods we have eaten, and we shouldn't feel guilty about the food we eat. This is a different perspective but one that rings quite true. We have after all punished ourselves for years over the foods we have eaten and where did it get us? This is my food for thought today.

Thanks so much I have to wash mine everyday too because it gets drenched with sweat at the gym!! Good luck and hopefully you will be ok!! Definitely get some good fats in your diet

I'm over 8 months out and have not lost any hair, but have lost 114lbs. My consultant attributes it to my post op diet. I wasn't able to have any protein my first two weeks post op and I often only get to about 65g. I do eat healthy fat with every meaI, mostly avocado. I do think it's just an individual thing on how each person's body reacts. I also never took any vitamins until 8 weeks post op.

What about those barefoot technology shoes. I guess if you can learn to stabilise not relying on shoes then you will engage more core? I do my kettlebell training barefoot. I tend to wear trainers when I do a 'cardio' circuit - like when we are doing burpees etc as that hurts!!

I enjoy the odd glass of wine, port and my favourite indulgence cocktail.. Kir royale (but that has bubbles). A nice Christmas drink is martini Rossi with pomegranate juice and a top of ginger ale (not really fizzy because its so diluted)
