My Surgeon Doesn't Require A Pre-Op Diet?
sanks51 replied to sleever427's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was 397lbs on the day of my surgery. My dr didn't require any pre op either. We don't see NUT here on the NHS in the UK before or after surgery unless you pay privately. All I was given was a sheet post op saying what they considered soft/puréed/etc. I just think it's completely down to the surgeon and his team and their protocols. I was a bit shocked I wasn't required to do anything pre op. -
Please Let The Hair Loss Stop!

You should try add a few healthy fats to your diet such as avocado, salmon and coconut oil. I was one of the lucky ones, I don't think I lost a strand.. But I have lost 117lbs (almost 10 months post op). I did start adding these from the moment I was allowed to eat puréed/soft diet. -

That looks very delicious!! -
I guess I considered myself pretty 'healthy' at almost 400lbs. I've never been on any medication, exercised 3-4 times a week and managed to everything I needed to. But maybe on the inside (the things I couldn't see) weren't good. I had no pre op diet and my op was successful so either my liver wasn't hectically fatty or I just had a pretty good surgeon! It gets you thinking. I ate healthy food (except for my crisp and yoghurt addiction), just copious amounts thereof!! Where I was unhealthy was my head - using food to control my feelings!! I look at this photo of myself and think 'who the hell was I kidding-that's NOT healthy girl!! So fat and healthy, in my opinion, I don't think so!!!

I had to wait 13 months between my two surgeries. I was devastated when I was told what the waiting list was. It all worked out well in the end. -

Yes I have tried it with other fillings such as chicken, bacon and mackerel (not all at the same time) but the pulled ham definitely the most tasty option!! Taste buds sure have changed.. I had my eye on the bottle of baileys (cream liqueur) more than the pancakes.. I'm like you gamergirl.. I love cooking its the best thing in the world - well one of the best things!! -

I'm only joking.. Just in a playful mood.. My lunch was a goats cheese, pulled ham, mushroom and spinach omelette thing cooked in egg whites and two whole eggs.. I make a big pan, slice into 6 and that gives me 6 lunches.. Works out at 151 cal (also a teeny bit of coconut oil) -

Or you can just mash up avocado and season with a drop of lemon juice, 'salt' and pepper.. No bits!
