  1. Just saw this thread.. It's food for thought!! I've lost a guinea pig, a human brain and a two month old baby horse!!! Wow!! I'm halfway so have another of each to loose.. Weigh in on Friday so hopefully I can add a few more brains to that
  2. I have Sushi maybe once every two months or so. I have no problem eating it and can manage 2-3 rolls depending on their size. My favourite has crab and avocado in the middle. I just take a bite which is like half the roll and chew it properly.
  3. Good Luck!! You will get there.. I think you know what you have to do!! I never had any pre op diet but I was a couple of Lbs away from the maximum weight they were able to operate on at the hospital... So I just knew I couldn't put on any weight!! Maybe your liquid diet will get you in the right frame of mind.. Or even two shakes and chicken/fish with veg for dinner? Any restrictions will help you to loose the weight you need to!

advice on birth control please :-)

I've been on the depo injection for the last 16 years. I'm 33 now. I've never had issues with the injection and was big before I started on it. I didn't need to come off for the op, and have no side effects. Weight gain has been linked to the fact it can speed up your metabolism, I'm not sure how true this is. I don't want any children and most definitely don't want any accidents so for me this was the most reliable form of contraception. Since my op, I've lost 104lbs in 7 months and I've had the shot twice post op, so I don't feel it is having an impact on my weight. Downside, it can take time for your monthly to start again so if you're in a rush for a baby then that's maybe something to consider.

    Women what would u do?

I agree, it's your choice. Just make sure you're 100% sure, and know all about the procedure, repercussions etc and if you still feel strongly about it, then there are some people who need help out there which you will be providing!
  15. I'm not really worried either. I'd much rather be healthier and happier. Fixing it can come later.. I'm bound to have it.. I have over 200lbs to loose!

    Bariatric friendly desserts?

My tastes changed completely after surgery. Occasionally I feel like a sweet treat but that's just it.. Occasionally.. and I don't get the satisfaction I used to think I was getting. I like the raw cocoa nibs as well because they're 'chocolate' but kinda not and they're a little bitter. I'm more in control now.. Able to have a bite or two and feel satisfied.. That's also one of my choices not to have fat free or sugar free stuff anymore.. It never was fulfilling, probably because its a load of chemicals. I know it's probably lower in calories but if it fits my macros I'm cool with it, very occasionally! Good Luck

    Bariatric friendly desserts?

I'm not a fan of fat free or sugar free anything. I tried this today.. Infact it ended up as my dinner.. It was delicious and very satisfying. Coconut cream, chia seeds, a few raspberries and a tsp of raw cocoa nibs. I only had about 3oz.. I'm still full!!

    Gerd better after surgery?

Mine was bad after I had my band removed. I was put on 20mg omeprazole per day. Then after my sleeve my dr recommended 40mg omeprazole per day. As I take these religiously I have not had any GERD or reflux.
