A really good unflavored protein is Unjury. Is has 21 grams of protein in a serving. Unjury's chicken soup is also really good.

If it's while you are eating or just after eating - you have eaten too much and are too full. Dr. Duc Vuong (he wrote the book Gastric Sleeve Success) says that if you burp or hiccup while eating, STOP eating. Your body is trying to tell you that you are overeating.

HELP! Hating all protein shakes
Dianeo replied to mxpxchik11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been using Unjury unflavored protein powder. It's wonderful. The flavor truly is "unflavored" and does not change the flavor of whatever you mix it with. -
Best pjs for the hospital?
Dianeo replied to kad_82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also wore the hospital gown. I took pjs with me but never changed into them. The hospital gown came in handy after the surgery, in post op, when I had to pee so bad and it took a little bit of time for the orderly to come, get me into a wheel chair and then to the bathroom. I was glad that I didn't have to pull anything down. lol Someone mentioned that they were catheterized. I wasn't. -
April Sleevers Post Op
Dianeo replied to aquarious12585's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LovelyinKY have you tried Unjury protein powder? After doing the pre-op liquid diet, I too have started gagging on my flavored protein shake. So, I started looking online for unflavored protein powders and I found the Unjury. It is awesome! I is 90 cal and 21g of protein in one scoop. It has no taste whatsoever. I've been mixing it with Carnation instant breakfast and then I also mix it with crystal light. I love that I can get 21g of protein while drinking lemonade. -

Glad you are doing well. I am one week post op an feel great! Safe travels! -
I am 6 days post op and have only had one. Starting to think I'm going to have to take a laxative. I think tomorrow I'm going to go get some milk of magnesia or some other liquid lax.

Having Thoughts and Second Thoughts
Dianeo replied to clevergirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I asked myself these same questions... but then I remembered all the times I have stuck with a diet program for months and lost 40-60 lbs each time. After a certain amount of time I would get so tired of eating foods that I do not like and start back with the bad eating habits and then gain back all the weight I lost, plus some. I am now one week post op and I'm hoping that I will stick this for life...but if I don't, I am also hoping that my stomach is so small that there will be uncomfortable consequences if I cheat and that will deter me. I realize that I have to eat healthy most of the time but if I eat a slice of pizza occasionally or one cookie, then it's not going to make me gain weight back. I think now with my new stomach it will be easier for me to eat moderately and only occasionally treat myself. -
I'm surprised that you're doing protein shakes already. Have you tried different temps for the water? Cold water caused me pain but room temp was less pain. Take really small sips. How about broth? Does that cause any pain?

I was sleeved on 4/3 and my dr told me to stay on clear liquids for 1 week. Then start the full liquid phase for 1 week - if I could handle it. Don't push yourself so hard to start on protein drinks or soft foods if you're feeling pain/pressure. If I drink anything cold, I have a lot of pressure but when it's warm or room temp, I'm fine. I called the dr about the pressure and he said it was normal and would get better with time. I can tell a difference everyday that it's getting better.

Liquid Diet Struggles
Dianeo replied to kafinator330's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's hard to stay on the liquid diet, pre op. I was able to do it for about 1 1/2 weeks and then I started gagging on the protein drink. If you're going to eat food, try to make the best choices - high protein and low carbs. Now, I am 4 days post op and am on the clear liquid phase. I'm having no issues at all with wanting real food! I'm not hungry and I'm actually struggling to get all my liquids in. You can do this! -
3 weeks post op VSG, gaining weight
Dianeo replied to j15big's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 days post op. My surgery was 4/3. I wasn't going to weigh myself until I go back to the dr for a 2 wk check up but this morning I decided to go ahead and do it - expecting to be down 4-5 lbs. I'm up 1.5 lbs!!! So frustrating. I'm doing clear liquids and I gained 1.5 lbs. UGH!!! -
My dr didn't say anything about crushing my pills either, although they are small. He even gave me a prescription for anti nauseous meds and that is a pill.

Hi Everyone - I had sleeve surgery done on Monday, April 3rd, so I am two days post op. I'm feeling pretty good but am having pain/pressure when I drink. Just tried to eat a popsicle but it was painful. I think that I'm having trouble with cold drinks. Seems like I do better with room temp or heated drinks. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and look forward to the support found here.

I'm also having a hard time drinking all of the fluids. I feel like I "sip" all day long but it's not enough.

Dianeo replied to pastbandedsleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could it be gas pain? Have you been using your IS?
