Thanks for sharing! Love that we’re so similar in our paths. As far as the stall, I refuse to beat myself up over weight any longer. I look at it as my body’s break before another losing run. I have embraced that this a marathon, not a sprint.
I look for to hearing from you again!

Hi,
Just wanted to check in and see where everyone is at:
SW: 266
SX date: 7/24
SXW: 257
Now: 217
I stalled this week, but starting to move again. Still weighing out food and trying to get 60-80 oz Water in. Totally over Protein Shakes.< /p>

Well mine was moved from the 12th to the 17th. I'm on day 3 of 4 days. They dont count the surgery date as part of the 3 day stay. I am hurting pretty much today. The pain pump meds were doing the same to me as morphine... Uncontrollable itching. So I stopped. Bam... Pain city. But I'm dealing. They gave me some liquid Tylenol. Blah... that was horrible. But it's taking the edge off. It hurts to drink. Pain all the way down. Hoping this will subside soon. Because once I'm off IV... Fluid intake will be on me.

Thank you! Trying to be the warrior my dad swears I am.
We are allowed to have black coffee, but I think I slacked on the Water the day before. Although I drank a lot, I don't think it was 64 oz.
I thought about why it might be worse today and I think it might be from chewing the tiniest piece of gum. My husband, very kindly as I was walking out to an event, told me that my breathe was stinky. I tore a tiny piece off, but I think the chewing may have triggered something. Just a theory, but maybe.

The first few days it was like: OMG! I can't eat, but it was fine. Friday, I had a headache in the morning and yesterday in the morning I had a stomachache for a few hours. Today, I'm struggling, but not craving anything specific. My friends that have had this swear this is the worst part. 9 more days and I'm counting!

My surgery is 2 weeks before I have to be back at work.

Unbelievable transformation! I'm currently in the pre-op diet and this motivation like no other. Thank you!

Thank you!
Did you go to the hospital later that day for preop meeting?
Did you start shakes the same day?
I have a list of questions and am getting excited!
I had a checkup with another doc yesterday and she told me that she knows our doc from her residency program and he is known for being very technically good in surgery. That was nice to hear!
Meanwhile I'm home sick with a cold. Better now than on 7/31 I guess!
I get it! My hospital pre-op is a phone call that is scheduled for today. I did start the shakes yesterday. It's hasn't been too bad. I walked for 1.5 today and was expecting to starving after, but all is good. I'm going to get sugar-free Jello this afternoon.
Sorry to hear about your cold. Get better soon! Feel free to ask a million questions.

Me too! You'll have to let me know how the preop class is. I'm one week behind you.
Pre-op class was good. They give you a few packets and go through a lot of information. We discussed each stage of food, Vitamins, medicines, what to do and not do, weighed in, confirmed dates, and a send off with the shakes.

Ahh! My date is Tuesday the 25th. I swore they told me the 24th. Anyway, started my Optifast shakes today. I can also have sugar-free Jello. It's not terrible, but I had to remind my self not to try my daughter's food that I was made tonight. I actually chewed a soy bean to make sure it was cooked and then spit it out. Haha!
I made a friend at pre-op class today who is similar weight and same surgery date.Half-Tum reacted to this -
I just got my surgery date, and it's August 16th! Soooo relieved and happy this is going to happen. Scared too, but determined.
Congratulations! It so exciting!

I am still waiting on approval from Cigna, but I'm scheduled for July 24th. Fingers crossed. I have 100 lbs. to lose.

Please add me to 7/24. Still waiting to hear from Cigna, though. Fingers crossed.

Funny! I had similar situation where when the provider logged into my CIGNA account it showed the incorrect deductibles and payment percentages. When I went for my upper G.I., I had the hospital call the insurance company while I was there. They confirmed that I didn't have a deductible, and I didn't need to pay anything for the upper G.I. So glad I checked!

Just found out today that Cigna approved my surgery and we scheduled it for August 16th.
I am so ready.
Congrats! They submitted mine on the 21nd and I received a letter yesterday that they asked Dr for more information. I called doctor today and they said they already submitted. Fingers crossed!

I'm considering flying with my 9 yo (we travel often) 2 weeks after VGS. Thoughts? Pros & Cons?
Thank you in advance
Pulling feeling near incision

I’m 7 months out of VGS and woke up in the middle of the night with a pulling feeling near my largest incision. It’s a dull feeling that I’ve felt all day. Any ideas what it might be?
Thanks!
