    Lap Band Failure???

Hi, I was banded in March 08 and I have lost about 22lbs and that's all! I try, not hard enough sometimes but I do. I find that when I eat chicken, meat, veggies, fruit or the stuff that is supposed to stay above the band, even if I chew very well, I still throw it up. Or I can eat a very little bit and am very hungry a short time later. But I can eat cookies or chips or anything crunchy with no problem. So I puke the good stuff and have no problems with the bad. So when I'm hungry, I go to the bed stuff. I feel terrible as well. I read all the stories when people have lost tons of weight and I ask HOW? It is supposed to make us not as hungry? I don't get that. If I knew it was going to be like this I would NEVER have done it. I'm sorry I did. I get all the struggles and none of the benefit.
  2. I was banded in 3/08, I thought this would surgery was the answer and save me from myself. Well it hasn't (of course.) I last a total of 21 lbs., and have gained back 11! I am so unhappy! I am depressed and feel like another thing, of the millions I have tried hasn't worked. I know its my own fault, I eat around the band, and I eat way too much. I have had 5 fills and I can still eat bread. My Dr. tells me I do not have a leak, but I don't feel like I think I should, or is this how it feels? In any case I would love to find someone who can support me as I support them, who has been there and can commiserate, or kick me in the butt when I need it. And I will do the same. I prefer a female. Thank you, and hope to talk to you soon!http://www.lapbandtalk.com/images/smilies/modern/crying.gif
  3. I so know how you feel! It is soooooooo frustrating! I was banded in March 08, and I am hungry all the time, and feel very little restriction. I have had 5 fills and I too am ready to throw in the towel. Where is the sweet spot? I am so disappointed now that I eat out of frustration! I've only lost a total of 15 lbs and that's because I exercised and ate small, and tried not to eat between meals even though I was hungry. So if that's the way it is, why did I go through all the pain, effort and expense to do this. Although I did get something out of this... Throwing up! I can eat almost anything, but every once in a while, my body says no, and I get rid of it. THEN I'M READY TO EAT AGAIN! When I go to the Drs they ask me why I haven't lost weight and I feel even worse! This has not been a good experience or what I was hoping for.http://www.LapBandTalk.com/images/icons/icon13.gif
  4. I was banded in March 08. In that time I have lost 20lbs and have gained back 8. I have had 6 fills and they tell me there is no leak, etc. and its my fault with what I am eating, and that may be true. Yesterday, I woke up and for the first time felt restriction. I can eat small amounts and I can drink liquids, only not too much at a time. I feel the way I think I should feel. Is it possible that it was in the wrong place or the stoma was too big and now its slipped into place? Or do I have slippage and need to get a revision? I have no pain or reflux so I am tempted to leave it and see what happens. Anyone have an issue like this?
