I'm keeping it real. I'm 3 months post op. I have never had problems with constripation until I had WLS. I've taken Mirlax, which don't work for me. Stool softeners takes to long to move BM. Probiotic is a joke. A few days ago I decided to take Milk Magnesium before going to bed. This did the trick. I'm going to stock my medicine cabinet with this stuff. Someone mentioned the gel, I'm going to try it. The liquid form works fabulous. Anyway, It's not my intention to put fear in you. The good news though, I do not regret one moment. I wish I would have done it sooner. Continue doing what you doing. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon. You want to make sure that you're making the right decision. I wish you the best in this new journey.

When did you get your first bm?
Dimples58 replied to Mieko Tominaga's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
This is normal. Be patient it'll happen. For me, I had one on the 6th day after surgery. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids. Also, you may experience constription several months after surgery. So my advice is to drink, drink and drink. And don't forget to walk throughout the day. Congrats and good luck in this new journey! -
Wow.... u look great

Hello and welcome you're a few years older than I. I'm 58 and had the Sleeve on July 26th. I started this new journey on April 28th. This is the day I decided to change my eating habits to prepare myself for the big day (surgery). Since than I've lost a total of 64lbs and feel better than I have in 20+ years. I wouldn't change a single moment. I have not gone back to the old me. I wish you the best in this new and exciting lifestyle journey.

Jealous of others on here

I wish I had the dumping syndrome instead of the constipation act[emoji3]. -
Try Biotin. This seems to work for me.

The warning signs are running noise burping or hiccups. You should always eat your protein first at every meal. At least this is instructed by my medical group. If you eat protein first especially dense protein you probably will not be able to eat more than 2 oz. eating sliding foods will go right through you and will not fill full. Be careful because this is how most start regaining. I wish you the best in this new and exciting journey.

Thanks everyone for your responses. It's nice to know that I'm not alone. -
Will I always burp?
Dimples58 replied to speechick1969's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Burping is an indication of fullness. I'm 32 days post op and burp whenever I'm full. -
I'm not sure if you were told to eat protein first....if not...try it. You will definitely get full after two or three bites. When I'm full i either get the hipcups and or belch. My nosie runs when I overeat.

Hiatal Hernia! Help please!
Dimples58 replied to She_red_dee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I hope the above responses are helpful. You have to live with whatever decision you choose. I was sleeved on July 26, 2017. My surgeon discovered and repaired a hernia at the time of surgery. I am loving my sleeve. -
I'm so sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I was sleeved on July 26th and my surgeon discovered a hernia which he repaired during surgery. You should feel a lot better after the repair of the hernia. Keep the faith.

JULY SLEEVERS- How are you doing?
Dimples58 replied to dreamingsmall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on July 26th. I didn't expect this jorney to be as smooth as it is. I had no gas pains, no nausea, only had to take 1 pain med after arriving home. I was a little weak while walking a few days after surgery. I'm still having problems drinking 64oz of fluids. I'm taking all vitamins. No problems eating soft foods. I haven't return to work yet. I'll be going back on 8/24. I've loss 44lbs since I started this journey on April 28th. I have no regrets....absolutely best decision. I a truly blessed. Hope everyone is doing good as well. -
Have your Dr. put you on any solid foods? I had surgery (sleeve) on 7/26 and have introduced a few soft foods to my diet last Friday. I can have eggs, toasted bread, turkey, various fish, ham, Canadian bacon, some cooked vegies and fruit.

Struggling to walk with pain in my side
Dimples58 replied to Jeaniered's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would definitely contact ER or your doctor regarding this pain in your left side. When I was discharged from the hospital I was pain free. I had soreness around my incision only. -
No weight loss first week???
Dimples58 replied to dayoneyearone's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You will gain after surgery. The weight gain is from the IV and gas during surgery. I gained about 8lbs and loss it within 1.5 weeks. I was pre warned of this before surgery so it wasn't a surprise to me. Hang in there, the weight will drop. -
Mashed potatoes are my friend but rice is my enemy
Dimples58 replied to LifeIsAllGood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love me some pasta. The thought of never being able to eat it again makes me sad. But just like anything else, I'll get over it. I can do without rice. At 3 mos post op I will be able to introduce a wider selection of red meats. I can eat ham and canadian bacon, turkey, and various fish. -

Dimples58 replied to LifeIsAllGood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can we eat rice and pasta???? I was told to stay away from these two foods. But of course it probably depends on your Dr. orders. -
Congrats to you on your weight loss success. Keep up the good work. You can do it. I was sleeved July 26th and loving every moment. I too am so grateful to embark on this new and exciting lifestyle journey.

What to eat after your surgery because this diet is killing....
Dimples58 replied to BiggSixxFizzle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm two weeks 2 days out and was cleared today by my surgeon to start solid foods. I know the feeling...eating soups and yogurt just wasn't my thing. You should be able to introduce solids to your diet by now. -
I hope you feel better. I was sleeved on July 26th and didn't experience gas pains and had very little nausea.
