Getting sleeved today! 24 April 2017
Propo replied to Propo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Morning Sleevers. Day 4 post vsg. Came home yesterday afternoon. All felt a bit strange and emotional but I'm so glad to be home. My darling wife truly is an angel and has looked after me so well. Drinking lots of tea. Had some clear chicken soup last night which was so delicious compared to hospital broth 😂 Then had a little jelly. Yoghurt for breakfast today. Dee bought the Greek zero fat, zero added sugar kind but it had some little fruit lumps so we sieved those out. Delicious too. Still don't feel hungry. More soup and jelly for lunch. I know it's something you really shouldn't do but I got on the scales when I went for a pee yesterday. Lost 5lbs! Probably just an adjustment of fluids etc but I guess I have been eating less than 300 calories a day so far. Onward and upward! -

Morning Sleevers. Feels pretty cool to be in the club 😂. Yesterday was so much better than the day before. Thank you god! Had to stay in the hospital an extra day (as did the lady that had the same surgery the same day) as the drains were still taking some fluid from the incisions. Been giving the all clear to go home this morning and had the drain taken out, iv removed. I'm going home!!!! Managed some soup and jelly yesterday and some jelly this morning. Finding tea, coffee and chilled water fine so long as the hot drinks aren't too hot. Finding eating weird as I just don't feel hungry and half a pot of jelly is fine. Starts feeling uncomfortable (I wouldn't call it full) if I have more. Its been 2 full days since surgery on Monday evening and I'm feeling so much better. Walking up and down the corridors here, bothering the nurses lol 😂 Still finding it amazing that I just don't feel hungry yet I've probably consumed 2-300 calories since surgery over 2 days ago. That would have been a mini snack on Sunday!! Going home in a couple of hours -Yayy! -

Feeling much better today. Except from a slight bit of acid when I drink, I'm feeling pretty human again. Still no hunger and just drinking water and tea until later today. -

Thank you. I'm drinking lots of water and tea. Helping my mouth stay pretty good. Just can't get comfortable with the hospital bed and the drain on one of the incisions. Home, own bed tomorrow. Yayy! Xx -

Thank you all so much for your good wishes. I'm out on the other side. Sleeved! Operation was pretty straightforward but I was quite a while in recovery. I asked for a premed to relax me a little before the operation and I think this made my journey out of anasthesia more difficult. Felt sick but soon went. Not much sleep last night as the nurses were checking my vitals pretty often and the iv pump alarm was hyper sensitive. Hope to sleep better tonight. I had a nasal drain fitted during surgery and this was removed this morning. Not fun. I have an incision drain remaining which is being removed tomorrow morning and I'm hoping to go home tomorrow afternoon. Nothing but tea and water so far. Not feeling hungry at all. No food for 36 hours now. Clear soup, yoghurt from tomorrow. -
Cheers Rick. Makes sense 👍

Hi, Anyone else had surgery by Mr Hassn in Bridgend Clinic in Wales UK? Saw Mr Hassn this week and I got a call from the clinic yesterday to say they could carry out my sleeve on April 24th. Excited, nervous, well scared a little to be honest. Mr Hassn doesn't require a pre op diet! I was very surprised as my sister had a gastric sleeve 2 years ago with Roger Ackroyd in Sheffield and had to follow a 10 day milk diet pre op. She has lost over 110 lbs by the way and swears by this procedure. Any advice or experiences with Mr Hassn? Seems like a really nice guy.

DB, great job and inspirational. Thanks for your story. I'm booked in for a gastric sleeve in 3 weeks. Excited to make this change in my life after being overweight in varying degrees my whole life! Currently at around 320 lbs.
