  1. Total wow! That's a different person right there. Congrats buddy. I'm just over two weeks sleeve post op and I get down about my decision sometimes but this just set me straight on why!
  2. Morning Sleevers. My 2 week post op update. I'm under 300lbs! Way to go me!!! Lost 23lbs in 2 weeks and despite another week of liquid diet ahead, I'm feeling pretty good about that. Clothes feeling much looser and one of the things that made me go for the surgery is starting to happen. I'm a car nut. Especially classic sports cars. I started thinking seriously about the surgery partly because of my small classic car Collection. I was struggling to get in and out of my cars and the seat belts on older cars are just not as big as modern cars. I used to squeeze them around me but could hardly reach forward! Not good. After just 23lbs lost, I went for a drive yesterday and the seat belt actually fit me without a struggle. Not loose yet but no drama getting it on! Also easier getting in and out. I feel I'm on the right track!! So, if you need an incentive, buy a little sports car and aim to squeeze in 😂 Food wise, I'm still struggling with the liquid diet. My wife has been a total angel. She won't eat her dinner in front of me and goes into another room. How sweet is that! No pain, no fuss. Still on my blood thinner injections until next week and see my surgeon next week. Soft food - T minus 1 week lol 😂😂

    Sleeved on April 24th! :)

Hi there. Really pleased you're doing great! Im good. Still on the liquid diet (soup, yoghurt and jello) for another week. My surgeon requires 3 weeks post op on this then soft foods. ive lost 23lbs since our surgery date as of this morning. Now that makes me feel better! 😂
  4. Hi Cass. Great to hear you're doing well. My incision wounds seem to be healing quite well. Bruised to hell on my left side around the main incision but that's going. Scars just show you've experienced life lol not sure why shakes etc should stop you loosing. If you're anything like me, you're only eating a few hundred calories a day? I'm pretty active but trying to take it steady post op and build up my exercise. Hope your treadmill works out. I weigh every morning. I can't help it lol. If I pee, I think I wonder how much that weighed lol. I'll get used to once a day - eventually keep updating. It's great to have someone who had the surgery on the same day to compare notes with. take care
  5. I'm Nathan. I have 5 of these small incisions on my belly. One in my belly button and the others around and above that. Really small. My surgeon didn't mention protein shakes. His diet plan is pretty poor to be honest. First 3 weeks, clear soups, yoghurt and sugar free drinks and jelly. No fizzy drinks. After I see him next time I can eat pretty much what I like starting off with soft foods. Friday is a hard day for me as we always went out for a meal or had a takeaway. Tonight - more flippin soup!! Lol
  6. Hi Leanne. To be honest, I've not felt hungry since my surgery. Head hungry all the time. Christ I miss a bacon and egg sandwich or a burger or pretty much anything I can chew! Im mostly having clear chicken soup that my wife makes. Kind of a chicken and veg soup that then gets passed through a sieve so all the good stuff gets removed and you're left with a clear soup. Tastes lovely but just nice flavoured hot water really. Jelly is ok and yoghurt is ok. Just got to get through it. 11 days to go then soft foods. No real pain in the tummy area. Everything seems to have settled pretty quickly. Stitches are the dissolvable kind. To be honest, the incisions are really small. About 1-1.5cm long and akrwady healing up nicely. Bit of bruising but that's going now too. Lost 20lbs now in just 10 days. Never, ever lost weight like this before! Let me know when you get your op date and if you have any questions. Chat soon
  7. Hi Sleevers. Bit of a mid week update. Feeling much more upbeat, less tired and happy today. I've started drinking a full protein shake every morning and I think that's helping a lot. A bit more energy throughout the day. I hate the taste (its bitty and looks like pond water lol, but I just keep at it until it's gone). Tried to find premier protein here in the uk but I don't think it's available. Boo hoo. Another 5lbs lost so that's 20lbs lost in just 10 days!! OMG!!

    Sleeved on April 24th! :)

Congrats! Same day as me 👍
  9. Great job!! Congrats. This op really seems to work. I'm just 10 days post op and on the liquid diet still but I've lost 20lbs already from the morning of the op! I'm sure this will slow somewhat as I get onto purée then doled good again but it's sure as heck a good start!
  10. Thanks Cass. It does feel great. Congrats on your loss. bit of a tired and emotional day today. Family visited which helped and took my mind of things. My wife is helping me keep my mood up. Think I'm just darn tired lol. Hopefully I'll be back on form tomorrow

    NSV and SV!!

Wow! I'm so very happy for you. Congrats! It looks like a totally different person. You must feel so, so much better. Another newer you to come!
  12. Morning Sleevers. So today is post op day 7. What a week! You can read about the weeks journey above. I did my 1st weekly weigh in his morning. 15lbs lost since last Monday! 15lbs!! Can't wait to see what next week will bring
  13. Propo

    Why no iceberg lettuce?

Ohh that Kung Pop sounds good. Saving that one for when I'm off liquids (6 days post op)
  14. [emoji23] we sound very similar. Not enough to have an op, let's quit a habit too! Why not!! I'm getting a ninja so I can purée anything. Even a table leg!! [emoji23] (gotta be better than cottage cheese) My sister had a vsg over 2 years ago. 100lbs off and swears it's the best thing she's one. I'm positive it's the right thing for me. I've been fat since childhood and it's stopped me living my life to the full all these years. No more of that sh1t. I'm taking control. I want to be "normal". Not the fat guy in the room. Here's to us both and success on this journey
  15. Glad it got better quickly. 18lbs is great! My surgeon didn't require a pre op so I really went into the liquid diet cold turkey. Plus I was a smoker and my last cigarette was at 10am last Monday. What was I thinking!! [emoji23] oh well, in for a penny My mood swings from "Christ this is easy and I just don't feel hungry" to "oh my god, I could kill for a burger" in about 10 minutes. My poor wife. Today seems a better day and as long as I can get through this liquid diet thing I'm sure I'll be fine.
  16. Hi, Thank you. Hope yours went well? Looking back on mine, it was pretty good. Bit rough the first couple of days but better every day since. Pretty much pain free since day 2 post op. Not really enjoying being on the liquid diet - I miss real food lol. Only for a couple of weeks then I can have a bit of real food. But I have lost 13lbs in just 6 days! Now that does sound good [emoji106]
  17. Amazing! I bet your life is so, so much better and healthier
  18. How are you doing Leanne? Do you have your date yet? First week post op has been pretty good for me. 13lbs lost already and every day post surgery really is better. Nothing really aches just a bit tender in the tummy. Prepare yourself for nothing more than tea, coffee, squash, clear soup and plain no fat smooth yoghurts (skyr is nice) Just visited our local garden centre, going to pot some hanging baskets this afternoon. Life seems to come back to pretty much normal after a week or so. All that stress and worry disappears.
  19. Propo

100 lbs lost as of today

Congrats! What a great milestone! Keep going
  20. Morning Sleevers. Day 6 post VSG. I'm sleeping really well I'm now at home. Yayy! Still just eating clear soup (chicken or beef that my wife makes and strains), yoghurt (I've found skyr honey to be delicious), jelly and lots tea, squash and a coffee now and then. Really can't wait to eat some real food. But on a plus note, I weighed this morning, 13lbs lost!! 13lbs!! In 6 days!! Without hunger!! OMG!! Lol 1 week weigh in tomorrow. Exciting!
  21. Super. Definitely going to use some of your ideas when I get past the food stages. Liquids are hard!
  22. I've watched a great documentary on bariatric surgery. It's mainly aimed at the uk healthcare system but the statistics and benefits are so compelling
  23. Wow! I could live on that lol. 4 days post op so missing "real" food. Is this your weight loss or maintenance diet and when did you start on this post op?
  24. I was sleeved Monday too. I think I know your feeling. Is it kind of indigestion or a mild heartburn? Mine was like that till Wednesday and the nurses were giving me warm peppermint water which helped. Disappeared by Thursday morning. Move your shoulders in a circular motion and walk a little with a bottle to sip from. The movement seems to reduce this feeling too
  25. Looking great! I read your story last week and it really was inspirational to me. I got sleeved on Monday! No pain, no gas. Really good. On a soup, jelly and yoghurt post op diet now until 15 may. hope this passes quickly as I do miss a little variety already
