I have been overweight all my life. I have lost down to my goal weight 3 times in my life (I'm 61 now) and of course gained it back plus more each time. I hurt my knee about 4 years ago and it was just never right after that. I was used to walking 5 miles each day for exercise and that put an end to that. I started putting on weight and started getting a lot of back pain. I have 3 bulging disks in my back that they say are inoperable. Also my knees are killing me. Any I wear an insulin pump and still have trouble with my sugar. My general practice doctor has been trying to get me to have Gastric Bypass surgery for the past 2 or 3 years. She says that she has patients that were actually confined to wheel chairs that had it done and are pain free now. I have such little quality of life because of the pain that I have to try something. So I am half way to having my surgery. I have completed all of the tests that were required. I am half way through a wellness course that my insurance company requires before they will give me final approval. So hopefully in August/September I will finally be able to have the surgery. It's been a long road so far but it will be so worth it!
