  1. I've had my band for a month and I've only lost 2 pounds. What am I doing wrong ? Could it be the chicken fingers I eat every day? Maybe the oreos, or the half gallon of ice cream I wash them down with. Shouldn't i be skinny already. Has the band failed already. Isn't it supposed to make me thin overnight ? Please help!!! But not if your help involves me having to make any changes to either my crappy eating habits or nasty attitude. Any suggestions????

I think your problem is you're not eating enough candy bars. You also have to drink cherry Dr. Pepper. But be sure to stir it up with a spoon first. That's the only way it will work.

  2. Haven't had time to catch up on the issue here Bandsters.

I'm 4 1/2 years postOp and still with the Band.

Is there something I might contribute to the discussion?

No, are you crazy? Don't you know that people who have had the band a long time don't know what they are talking about?? So how could you possible contribute????:lol::drool:

  3. Because I don't have a life! I'm banded, but ate 2 deep fried chickens today (slider foods for me) and I'm sitting around stuck! I can't go out in public because slime is coming out of my nose, ears and eyeballs. But I'm not worried because someone here told me it was normal and that I just needed to eat ice cream to counteract the sliming.

I haven't called my doctor, cause, really...what does he know?

So, again - I HAVE NO LIFE. I am ALL about the band and ONLY the band. No other surgery is right for anyone.

No, they're wrong. You have to eat chocolate candy bars to stop the sliming, or a donut usually works for me.

No don't call your doctor. He's stupid.

And OF COURSE the band is right for EVERYONE. Don't you know this is LAPBAND talk???? Everyone should get a band and come here.

  4. I have continued to take my pill since surgery. I am losing slow, but I don't think it is the pill causing it. I am just a slow loser. There shouldn't be any problems swallowing the pill. It is tiny. Beware of what doctors tell you when it come to the Lap Band and birth control. I once had a nurse practioner tell me that my pill was not being absorbed due to my band! Get real! There are A LOT of doctors who have no idea about bands. I think a lot of them confuse it with bypass.

  5. Hi, I have Cigna. I had surgery May of last year. Did you have your nutrition and psych consults? They will deny you if you haven't had those. You also have to have the letter of medical necessity. If you have all of that in with your 6 month diet, it shouldn't take long for you to be approved. I was denied the first time, but it was only because the doctor's office didn't fax everything in the first time. Once Cigna received everything, it only took a little over 2 weeks for them to approve me. Good luck!
