  1. Well, I have always had the opposite problem. No one thinks I am 30. Everyone thinks I am a lot younger. I know a lot of people would take it as a compliment, but I feel like I some people don't respect me because they think I'm young. I work in the medical field and a lot of patients have actually asked me if I'm old enough to have a job and then when I go to draw their blood, they get nervous because they think I'm too young to do it!

  2. Hi All,

I would like to hear from others who have gotten of track what steps you have taken to rebound.

I am 1yr. 5 mos post op and need help getting back on track. I was going GREAT for 9 mos and stop following my plan. I have put back on weigh and feel too embarrassed to go back to my doctor. I do not want to feel that my band was a waste of time. Mornings my band is tight but in the evenings I am hungry.

I do not have the sense of fullness, but rather a sense of feeling blocked. I am having night coughs and reflux. Please post or email me at kbinns101@comcast.net.

Go back to your doctor. There are a lot of people who get way off track. They see it all the time.

  3. I know how you feel. My husband isn't exactly supportive either, and that makes it worse. I had surgery 3 weeks ago and last night my husband actually had the nerve to say that I could have done it on my own without the band, that it's all about will power! I am SO mad. I was very surprised to hear him say that. He has seen how many times I tried to do it own my own and failed. I wouldn't have chosen to have major surgery if I could have done it on my own.

  4. lunch sounds great! No, I don't have any children. Do you?

I know what you mean about the energy level increasing as I lose weight. That's one reason why I had surgery. I don't want to be a fat nurse! lol. I have been in the medical field for about 10 years or so. I started out as a CNA and then got my MA. I was also a phlebotomist for a while. I like being an MA, you can't beat the hours, plus weekends off. But there's so many people doing it now, it's getting harder to find good jobs at good offices. Plus the pay is not so great. I basically do a lot of the same things as nurses do, yet I get paid a whole lot less.

  5. I was having a lot of pain in my side, and the nurse said it was probably because of the position during surgery. She said your feet are in stirups and they are up in the air. The surgeon stands between your legs to do the surgery. Your abs are kind of in a crunch position. I'm glad I didn't know until after my surgery!
