I haven't seen a new commercial either. They also charge my insurance company $400. I think it is a huge rip off. Especially when they don't use flouro. It looks like that would be some type of insurance fraud if they are billing for it but didn't use it.

I would just get a small fill. Whenever I have this problem, I just get a small fill and it seems to help. If you get a big one, you may end up too tight.

Clowns? Someone say clowns?? I didn't think we were allowed clowns with the band? Isn't that a carb?
-
I am not sure either how much they will charge you. I am one of the lucky ones, I have really good insurance and I only have to pay $30 for a fill. I have had a fill and a lot of unfills without flouro. Funny thing is, it is the same price for me either way. Even when they don't use the flouro, GBI still bills my insurance like they did.

I see it as just about everything we eat has something artificial in it. Even fresh fruit you buy. Did you know it has artificial color on it to make it look more appealing? So that red apple you buy has been painted with more red color to make you buy it!!

I use splenda. The other stuff may be more natural but it's also way more expensive.

Advice for a really, really PB, two words: bran muffin. You can trust me on this. But HOW do you do a PB????

slim, I took hydrocodone after surgery. It helped a little but not a lot. But I am feeling much better. Funny thing is, I broke out in a rash after taking the meds. I have taken it many times before and not had any reaction, so I don't know what was up with that.

I am doing good. I was afraid to weigh because I have been eating a lot more lately, but I got on the scale and I have only gained 2 pounds. I thought it would be more. I was afraid I had gotten back up to 200 but I haven't. I never want to see that number again!! I have my 2 week followup with my surgeon tomorrow and I will ask him if it's ok to start exercising again.

As I began reading this thread I suspected you all were a bunch of right wing radical extremists. After having read nearly all of it I am convinced.....However, can you please help me? My doctor is real concerned with my Protein intake. He says I should always eat protein first. My question: Does this mean that I always have to do oral before missionary? Or is this something that only PG can faithfully answer?
How dare you call us names? Now I have to start some hate threads about you.
As for your question, you'll have to ask PG because we don't do such disgusting things as oral.

Good luck to you both. I have the same feeling about being put to sleep. It can almost cause an anxiety attack for me. But it will all be worth it. You won't regret it. See you in band land!

Yea, it probably did loosen. That's how I am right now too, once I get the first few bites down I can eat the rest. It sucks. But I know it's time for a fill when I get that way.

He Erika,,, Yep, Dana is right,,, that's all the stuff that Cigna will want. When I first started my jouney, I was at a seminar that my surgeon does. There was a lot of paperwork that he asked anyone that was seriously considering surgery to fill out for him. About a week later, his office called me and said they had heard from Cigna and that it would be covered. I had my first one on one appointment with him and he went over all the things Cigna would want. 6 months/6 appointments with my doctor for weight loss management, dietitian and psyc eval. I finished all my 6 months of appointments last week and am now waiting for my doctor's office to send the letter of need to my surgeon. That is the last piece of paper that Cigna will ask for. My surgeon doesn't even send it to the insurance till he has everything they will ask for. The 6 months went by MUCH faster than I thought it would, but the past week waiting for that ONE letter is driving me crazy, lol.Dana, you mentioned something about 2 to 5 years of medical records,,, my surgeon has said nothing about this. I hope that's not a hurdle I'll have to do??? My surgeon said that the 6 months were for a record of weight loss since sometimes it's hard to find past weight loss records.
Well,,, that's where I'm at right now. I'm praying that I wake up tomorrow and find an email from the surgeon's office saying they have the letter and have sent Cigna all the paperwork! Good luck to you both, keep in touch with your Cigna process! :-)
I didn't have to have 2-5 years of medical records either. I don't think it is required anymore as long as you have a letter of medical necessity from your PCP. Just FYI, Cigna will probably mail you the letter first informing you if it has been approved before they let the doctor's office know. That's how it worked with me anyway.

Can someone please show me how to do a PB?? Please?? Anyone??
-
I think I had to do a pb and I don't know how. Boo I guess none of you care. SERIOUSLY, HOW DID THIS GIRL PASS THE PSYCH EVAL??????
-
You really need to see a doctor about your anxiety issues. You won't be able to live a happy normal life with the band if you don't get your anxiety under control. It's consuming you and it's not healthy at all. Did you have to have a psych eval before you got approved for a band?

HELLO?? Why are you eating SF????
-
-
Well why didn't you say that? OF COURSE you can have it on your preop diet. Don't you know you can have anything during preop? What does preop mean anyways? Sounds like some kind of soap opera to me.
-
I think so. When I start to get that way, I usually know I need a fill soon.
-
Well, that's what I was thinking but wanted to be sure. Are you sure? Really? What about the wings? They seem a bit carb-like to me. Should I just drink the tea anyway? I do like to live on the edge. :thumbup:No, all carbs are off limit. Once you get the band you can't ever have another carb again. EVER.
-
So did WE leave you speechless, or somebody else? Somebody eat a side of beef three hours post-op?How did you know I did that???

I agree that the teenage years are probably the hardest if you are overweight. I was lucky when I was a teenager, I didn't start putting on weight until after I got out of high school. It has been hard enough being a fat adult, I can't imagine what it must be like for teenagers.

How much more?? Will my insurance pay for that???
Were is all my Chattanoogians at?

I have worked in 2 doctor's office and I don't see how they get away with certain ways that they bill. But that's just my opinion.
